03 mini non S engine swap to 03 S

Hey everyone I'm new to the mini world, actually my girlfriend owns it but I'm starting to like them myself. But anyway as title says its a 03 non S its had quite a few issues, and just recently we have came across a 03 mini S at a nearby salvage yard I believe to be almost complete. So I'm asking what will I need from the S car to drop engine into her car? I'm guessing engine and CPU....anything else?? Any information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Why not complete the S instead, switch to the s engine would not be an easy task.

The salvage yard wouldn't sell the SS mini. But turned out the engine was messed up in it, so we are just going to continue working on her's

You would need the complete motor, engine, tranny, CV joints, wiring harness, ecu, keys,...the hood of course... Thinking if I might be missing anything..radiator, front radiator mounts, engine mounts, etc...lots of stuff..Basicly a FULL TRANSPLANT...
Basivly you would want the entire car if it was descended, move everything over...then sell the shell as scrap...lots of work...IMO cheaper to just get a different car in most cases..

Thanks for info. Yeah I think that is a little more than what I want to.

You definitely don't need to do a full swap the only differences between the R53 and R50 is the supercharger. If your having engine trouble try and diagnose the issue first before doing the full swap because you probably don't need a whole new motor and trans

Look into way motor works out of Atlanta Georgia. They are the best around and do transmission conversions and motor swaps and everything

Uh, mechanically there are a lot more differences than that.

Lol....if you think it just a SC, read up...
Head is different, heck even the crank and cams are different...forged, as opposed to sindered iron...positions are diffent...both in basic construction methods, and in compression....even the bolt on items are different...the alternator is a denso (usually) as opposed to the typical VALEO... It's shaped differently, and mounts differently , and the two pin vs the 3 pin it is different too...
Sure, a couple idiots have bolted the sc from an S into a r50....but they post how easy it was and how great it runs...then 2 month later they disappear.... simply cause the car blew-up... many changes were made to allow more hp...
