Awesome car! Those wheels would look great on my Chili Red & White R-50. I like the "openness", looks like they wouldn't be too bad to keep clean.

BlueFin Question

Just wondering how you liked the blue Fin? Was it worth it? Also why did you go to the 6-speed.

Love what you have done so far, you are now my new MINI inspiration... Long Live the NA Cooper!

Yeah very happy with Bluefin, not massive power increase as we all know, but revs easier and alround worth the money. I went for 6 speed as clutch needed changing and was only a matter of time before midland would go bang. Also any future power mods i now don't have to worry.

One more question, how does the lightened flywheel feel like. Is it ok for a daily driver?

Yeah flywheel feels ok as daily drive.

Had a very busy Mini weekend. Another track day at Brands Hatch yesterday - did four 20 minute sessions. The coilovers and brakes are so good, really starting to push the mini now round the track.

Then Rolling Road day at AMD. Had two runs and best was:
140.6 bhp at 6124rpm Speed 122.6mph
127.8 lb/ft torque

How much did the tranny swap cost you (parts+labor)? If you don't mind my asking. I'm considering doing it while the Midlands is still good so I can turn around and sell it to help fund the swap.

Shame it's not durable, it feels really good shifting it.

Yeah, I'm in the U.S.
I've sent out an e-mail to various salvage yards. So far I've gotten 3-4 replies. I need to call back to see how much they will sell me the parts for the swap. I'm sure I can sell my midlands for atleast $800-$1,000 as it is fairly new and in great condition. Plus, I have a warranty that pays 50% of parts and 50% of labor so at the very least I might get half of the labor costs covered Might get the swap all said and done for under $2,000.

BTW, love your MINI! Looks fantastic! I've always been a fan of the Indie Blue/White combo. Love the wheels too. If they weren't so price I'd get them myself. Got other things to buy.
