Do these types of chips actually do anything? Anyone run something like this?

No. Just buy an air filter and be done with it. Making power on the reg. cooper is a lot of hassle. Intake is about as far as it should go, maybe exhaust.

Start with an intake it will make more gain than that. That chip won't do anything for you. If you want a Tune we can do that and actually make a difference. That just looks like a resistor for the temp sensor.
