2007 MINI Cooper air intake mod

I am 15 years old currently turning 16 tomorrow and I have a 2007 Mini Cooper (Non-S). I was wondering if anybody knew of a Cold Air Intake mod for it and if i can get a link from anybody. If you could write back to me that will be great! Thanks!

If you search for CAI on the forums, you'll find a lot of posts and threads about the different brands. The five that are most talked about would be the

aFe
DDM
K&M
ProMini
Alta

For my 1st Gen, im going with the aFe. You have a 2nd Gen. Look on the 2nd Gen boards and see what is best for you!

If you're talking about the 2nd gen Cooper non-S, there's no CAI out for it yet. DDM and VIP Customs are in the process of making them. VIP Customs will have theirs out in literally 2-3 weeks. Not sure about DDM(they're still in testing phase).

Just a heads up the MC with a open cone filter is gonna be LOUD. I don't know if the systems mentioned above are gonna be sealed or enclosed but an open cone gives off a nice growl. Here's a clip of mine.

Yes I have 2.5" piping from the downpipe to the stock muffler without the second cat or resonator.Still the intake sound is much deeper than the exhaust tone. Here's the interior sound.

The exhaust was fabricated by a buddy of mine who owns a shop. The intake is your basic el cheapo pep boys cone filter.

Shoot I was really interested in this clip but each time i played it i kept gravitating to listening to the Clash song in the background.

Is there any noticeable difference between having the system enclosed or cone open on a CAI like the K&N Apollo. I currently have that on my Mini but enclosed.

You can get them at PepBoys and AutoZone and all those stores. Or if you want to get the K&N one online you can get it off this list:

http://www.knfilters.com/search/univcone.aspx

I think the non-S can use either part RC9350 or RC9310 (the 2.75 inch tubing).
