Gear ratio change?

I read somewhere the Cooper S gear ratios are shorter than the Cooper. So acceleration should be better. Anyone heard of anyone changing the Cooper gear ratios eg putting Cooper S gears in or something???

I thought cooper s gear ratio can't match to our cooper because cooper s has turbo, which final ratio is 2.xx or just 3.xx, if we use that ratio to the na engine, cooper will lack power in the first period pf rpm, cooper rpm is faster and shorter that cooper s because we have large final gear ratio....

Rear end ratio on the cooper is lower, higher number. 1st gear on the cooper is lower than the S. Changing the 1st gear to the S 1st gear will make the car slower.

Here are the official numbers:
(the higher the numbers the better the acceleration)

Cooper S
1st 13.99 12.06
2nd 7.80 7.77
3rd 5.20 5.41
4th 3.98 4.15
5th 3.41 3.46
6th 2.97 2.98

All the ratios are on the Mini USA sight or in the brochure.
