as for exhaust, i probably plan on mail ordering the Magnaflow one Waterman used, and get it swapped by a reputable shop and keep the oem tip as well. was the flat black finish to help conceal the muffler from the cops? if so, i guess i should do the same here in NYC?

i better start working more shifts cause i'm not going to be able to resist the temptation of ecu tuning as more options become available for our coopers.
I wonder how it would sound to get the midsection replaced with a 2.25" pipe back to a Magnaflow muffler. I'd probably have the stock tip welded back on just so it doesn't stand out as much (if the sound doesn't do that already). I'm guessing it would be super loud. But maybe I'll try that.

Let us know how that works out. It's the first one I've ever seen made specifically for the non-S.

hmmm. the remus is tempting, especially since it's more easily reversed than swapping mufflers and looks like something i can diy install.

I was thinking the same thing, I just wish there were sound clips and more details about power and mpg. Waiting for someone to be the guinea pig.

Guess I missed that one. I like the sound, but it's not loud enough for me. Although it would probably be louder if they revved it higher.

I checked with VIP Custom and they are working on an exhaust for the Clubman and R56 MC. The one they have for the "S" sounds good from the sound clip on their web site. I like their stuff, so I'm waiting for this to be available.

Find a good local muffler shop and have them build a system for you.

I have been very happy with everything I have gotten from VIP. I Like the way Van thinks and approaches things. Let me know what it sounds like. I don't want to call too much attention to myself. I want the performance aspects mostly.

I took your advice and ordered this magnaflow with a nice magnaflow tip to go with it. Will have it installed. Cant beat the price. Hope I like the new sound. I also have the KN drop in air filter. Thanks.

Love the sound of the Tracer system.. That was all out of the country though.. Anyone in the states sell those kits.. Really just interested in the single pipe per side. but the Tracer sounds really good..

I'm now thinking of keeping my stock muffler and just replacing my front pipe, deleting the second cat (where exactly is it?) and replacing the resonator. Can't have my family car being too loud. Any thoughts? Nicer sound? Maybe add 1-2 MPG or HP? Will I pass emmissions? Oxybluecoop, do you still have the stock muffler? Does it add much resriction on the streets? I know replacing the header is best, but I'm scared to trust someone to do that now. Thanks in advance.

I ran across this on Mini2. Milteck makes it, but the link is from their USA importer. Scroll down to the bottom and there is a header/down pipe/cat that will fit the regelar MC. Anyone heard of this?
