any info on a turbo kit for the justacooper? i know there is and upgrade kit that alta has for the cooper s. does anyone know if we can put it on the justacooper?
trade you car in for a S. they didnt just slap a turbo on the regualr cooper engine. the internals are all stonger. plus the price difference between the the s and non s is $3000 about the same as a turbo kit.

It can be done but would have to be custom. A lot of people will tell you to just get an S but a turbo cooper is a good sleeper. A man I met had done a turbo kit on his R50 and made over 200whp.
be cheaper to put a cooper hood on a S, if you want a sleeper
That's true but then there's still the badges and exhaust to consider. Given that the OP has a justacooper I don't think he was looking to trade it for an S to get a turbo.
It has been done a half dozen times or more over the last 6 years. Nobody has every given any long term feedback on how their turbo-ed Cooper has held up. Nobody has ever sold a "kit" that actually works.
There was a thread about this a month or so ago...
The short answer is there is no turbo kit for the Cooper, and don't expect anyone to make one.
Whoops... this is the 2nd gen forum. Ignore most of what I said.
Corin, I was wondering the same thing a couple of months ago. I got basically the same answer; that there is no kit and never will be. Stock internals will have to be swapped, plus a whole lot more. I'm trying to find a custom config. to push 200 - 220 hp but as of yet I'm still working on it. If I get it right I'd be happy to share my setup. But it may turn out that upgrading to the S and buying an available chip will be cheaper.
