ALTA will do CAI for cooper non s R56!!!

Hi cooper owner here, I just mail to ALTA and they have a feedback about the CAI, this is their quotation, I ask them about "can the CAI for cooper s r56 works with cooper non s R56?"

"Hello Wim,

Thank you for contacting ALTA MINI Performance.

The Cooper S intake is not compatible to the Cooper. We will be making a standard Cooper intake that will be available in about 4-5 months.

Please keep an eye on our web site for updates!"

I think that is a good news

We are keep waiting ALTA, Let's work for it, If not we will go for K&n apollo

FYI just fitted the K&N Apollo intake (not just filter). Did before-&-after acceleration timings. 13% improvement 37-56mph in 2nd, 6% better 37-62mph in 6th, bit slower (around 3%) in the 2000-4000rpm rev range, 4% better fuel consumption on hilly road with cruise control set at 50mph. Pulls one gear higher up hills too. Quite a bit louder above 2000rpm, with resonance around 4000rpm (but sounds nice blipping the throttle on downshifts!). [BTW the odd mph numbers - I did the comparison in km/h]

A new member here, and this is even my first post.
Just took delivery of a 09 non-S model.
Who is ALTA? I assume CAI is Cold Air Intake? This and the K&N Apollo will not void warranty? What other CIAs are on the market that Mini is honor? Thanks!
