Trailer Hitch - Pic request

I'm needing a trailer hitch for my '06 MC. While I will probably end up spending the money for the MiniDoMore hitch (looks to be very nice and invisible), the regular hitch that mounts below the bumper is significantly less expensive.

Anyone have a pic of the regular hitch (such as Curt or other brand) mounted so I can see what it looks like on the car?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Thanks for posting the pic .

If I could find one like that here, that would be great....all the ones I'm finding (besides the Minidomore) have a bar that hangs down under the rear facia all the way across the back. I think that would look pretty bad.

I will probably just go with the Minidomore. I'm sure it's worth spending the extra cash.

thanks again.

Thanks. Have you considered giving the mini dealer a call and looking at their tow bar. Its the same as the one I have. Also what are you going to be towing?

Does the Moss MINI Hitch hang down below the fascia? The site has no pictures.

Thanks!

I believe it does. The one shown above by 07BPB is the only one I have seen (besides the MiniDoMore, of course) that does not have a big bar hanging below the bumper. From what I have gathered, the one pictured in this thread is not available here in the states.

I ended up getting the MiniDoMore and am glad that I went with it. It really was not difficult to install and is totally hidden when you don't use it. I even ran my trailer wiring underneath so that it comes out through the same hole (rear fog opening). It's a great design, but perhaps a bit pricey....but you get what you pay for in this case I think.

Don't the USA dealers and Aussie dealers use the same tow equipment?

MC hitch HELP? Does anyone have any pic's of a Curt or Moss?

Hey, fellow MC owners. My family is planning a number of trips this summer. Disney/2000 miles; Maine/1500 miles; Conn./1000 miles and thats just the planned trips. We own a Honda van and have used this for most of the long trips do to the extra room. We have three sons, 9, 8 and 6.

The Mini has been modified since day one with three sets of 5 pt. racing belts across the back seat, so......I've been thinking about a hitch/cargo platform and cargo box to carry all the stuff for some Mini trips. The Mini gets almost twice the mpg. I have taken the boys on 1000 mile trips without the wife, but if all of us go we need a little more room.

So, has anyone put a Moss or simular hitch on? Does anyone have any pic's installed? I like the fact that its cheaper and I would not have to remove the bumper (Mini Do More hitch), but I'm not sure how the hitch is going to look, sticking out the bottom. Also, Mini Do More is about 15 miles away, hope to save shipping, but still the whole set-up I'm thinking about is very expensive.

My wife still thinks I'm a little crazy. This weekend we are making a little 250 mile trip to her mom's house.

Her work schedule, will not allow her to take the extra two days to drive down to Disney in Florida. So, she'll take a free flight while the boys and I take the Mini, we will stop 1/2 way at Grandpa's(father-in-law) house on the way down and the brother-in-law's house on the way home.

The last few times the boys and I have taken the Mini, every single spot of the Mini was filled with stuff. I'm hoping going with a cargo box off the back and putting the light but bulky items back there and making the Mini down right roomy.

Still no pic's of the Moss/Curt hitch.

I've been looking over the forums for quite some time, and saw a Mini with a Curt/Da'lan hitch, which is available at Moss. However, now I can't find the post! Was it a user on NAM called Jaxman or something like that? Maybe it was spelled Delan on the post... I'll look again and see if i can find you a link to a pic...

Jaxmini! Aha!

a person with a Cooper and a Da'lan hitch, and here it is. It doesn't hang too low, I mean not much more than the exhaust... from what I gather, Curt purchased Da'lan, and so the ratings/instructions are the same .pdf sheet, that I can find anyway.

Brent at MinidoMore has that nice hidden one, which is a about 16-18" off the ground I think he said. With this one I might have to get a riser drawbar... like 3 inches of rise. I have one for a 2" receiver, but i suppose i will search more and see if there is such thing for a Class 1 at 1.25"... Someday I'll have to quit researching this stuff and start installing!

Hitch Cargo Box

Well we just got back from our 1100 miles trip to Conn. The five of us and our Mini Cooper. Plenty of room for cargo, but a little close quarters for the five of us.

Disney in a couple of weeks, 2500 miles. The four boys will drive down, my wife's work schedule doesn't allow her to take the extra days for the drive, so she'll fly down on a free airline ticket.
