OMG I have been trying to tell you this crap forever.
I have been looking at the TSI Turbo kits and I have only seen good things about them.
Simple kits for a nice price. The Mini Coopers can not get the Extreme kits due to the lack of space for an intercooler. You could fabricate an S intercooler but I bought a DSM eclipse intercooler so Ill jsut mount it in place of the battery and run the S scoop to it.
i seen this before but dont you have to change internals to actualy support the turbo. Just throwing this in would probably do some damage to your pistons and cam shaft. Also wouldn't you loose hp changing the compression ratio of the mini already, since it already runs at a high ratio already.
I posted a link to this kit a few weeks ago... and it was ignored... one interesting note is the pictured kit... it's a generic picture that shows up regardless of application. I'd feel better if the page showed pictures of actual kits installed in cars.

Mini Mania came out with a turbo kit for the Cooper back in like '03. It was unveiled at the SEMA show that year. I think they sold it for like 2 months, if that.
The reason why nobody offers big power adders for the Cooper is because it can't handle the power, stock that is.
If you were to take a Cooper S engine/tranny and swap it out into a regular Cooper, then maybe you might have something to work with.
If you want to go fast, and tune for speed, get and S.
If you want to look cute and add all sorts of chrome accents, go for the Cooper.
BTW, a lot of those kits on ricer websites are pretty much 'universal' fit kits. That being said, you could fit the same kit to a honda that they offer for the Mini.
Yah...this looks a lot like the generic kit that they were selling a few years back for the Cooper. A buddy of mine ordered the R50 Cooper kit and when he got it he found that it was basically just a collection of parts that he would need to custom fabricate a kit....rather than just being an actual kit.
