"Street" Exhaust Opinions

I'm considering getting a new exhaust this spring, but my requests are kinda particular. I'd like something with a decent tone, but nothing too loud; as this is my daily driver and the car I drive to my GF's parent's house . Ideally something with a bit more heft than stock; but not "calling all cops" loud and not rice. HP gains a plus, but not a deal-maker/braker. The JCW kit seems a bit expensive for me, and I'm happy with the intake I have (BMP), so I'm looking into some aftermarket options. So far, I've liked the sound of the Supersprint. Any others I should consider?
Anyplace online where I could hear some samples?

Also, is returning to stock an issue if I decide to sell in the future?

Thanks in advance-

J

if you don't mind having the pipe cut, Remus sounds very good. and you could have the oem wlded back on, or find a used factory cat back for cutting. though, you could buy the supersprint catback pipe. OBX may make one as well. Gabe of MotoringFile had one(review of zorst) when he had a r50. he also had a supersprint for the r50 prior to the remus.

I love the sound of the Megan exhaust, but I have never heard it or any of the others in person.

I have the Magnaflow cat-back. It is suppose to make the best gains in hp and tq. It has a nice deep tone to it and pops every once in a while. Its not to loud, not to quite, just right. Here are some video clips of mine with a Magnaflow and an intake.

Easy way to fix this: buy the exhaust; I'll even help you put it on (then I can see if I like it and get one for me )

I like the megan setup. If I ever deicde to do an aftermarket setup, it'll either be the milltek or the megan. The only problem I have heard for a lot of megan users across the board (Honda, Mini, Subaru, ETC...) is the droning on the highway. Not good for someone like me who drives nearly 80% of the time on the highway :(

The Megan can "dron" at some speeds on the highway. I'm a big fan of cruise control at high speed. I have found the "dron" RPM and can avoid it with ease. My GF sleeps all the time on the long road trips without issues. If you have the rear seats up you may not hear it at all.

That's a nice looking setup but, for like $50 more, you could get the Borla catback.

I got the MyMini touring exhaust, (with resonator), about two years ago. Sounds great to me, deep tone and NO freeway resonance. I also like the look of the exhaust tip. Highly recommended.

Noob question... What function does the resonator play? What are the pros/cons to having one?
