If I can get a hold of a totaled MCS, could I use that tranny with components?? would I also need to install a turbo to help fix the ratio difference?? Also what is the 5speed getrag?? Can I get a hold of one of those??

The R50's from 02-04 (I believe) had the crappier Midlands. Starting in '05, they were equipped with the 5 speed Getrag. As far as I know, the 6spd Getrag was the only trans offered in the R53. I know they were all 6spd's but am unsure if all were Getrags. I believe they were. Somewhere on here I read electronically, they both wired together the same. The only difference there being the cruise didn't work. As far as physically bolting up, IDK. Mounts, axles, input shaft, clutch, flywheel, all that would prolly need to be scienced out or given to one of the like 3 people who have done this in the past.

Hi, PM txwerks if you'd like a 32 page PDF describing the swap from a 5-speed Midlands to a 6-speed Getrag.
