Green twister CAI or K&N with home made CAI

Hello all,

First post BTW so cool MC's have a place to talk with out the supercharged discussions taking over. So I'm about to do some mods on my mini and I want to do the best thing for her. I would first like to put a new air filter on and was thinking about a CAI. The only one I saw really was the Green Twister one sold at mini madness. I was reading someones thread here who was using a coffee can over his cone intake to make a CAI?
Any ideas

Go get an AFE CAI from Flowsource. I have one and I really like it along with my Megan Exhaust.

There are a lot more options than just those two. You can make a great home made CAI for like $50. Try this website http://sfxperformance.com/
Just look at their universal air filters. They also have tubing. I find it rediculous to pay $200+ for a $30 air filter and a heat shield.

Good luck. You will have a lot of people tell you to buy different CAI's, but the pride of knowing you did it yourself and made an equal quality product for a fraction of the price is wonderful.

I’ve seen customized CAI which turns out to sound great and it’s quite impressive since they got the effort to do it themselves, from available resources they have like the Green Filters and alternative materials comes a really one of a kind powerful CAI. Get with it and you’ll surely be overwhelmed with yourself when you got to succeed with that project. And, don’t forget to update us with the progress. Good luck!

What do you want? If you want performance, a drop-in panel will work great. If it's soun, the a cone type works well. I have done testing on several filters, and a drop-in foam gave the best performance boost. CAI's don't give you any more performance and they are more expensive, but they do sound better.
