Bit more of a cat person myself, but I don't mind dogs. I don't have either, but I would probably get a cat if I did (due to having a loft condo and my work hours). Still, some great looking dogs in here. Mike, love the pair. They look great. Otra, great looking Sheltie.
I will have my folks stop in when they are down that way! They live in Freeport only 25 or so miles away from ya! They FINALLY have seen their first MINI on the road (they have been searching for a MONTH)....they like to buy our pooches presents for Christmas and such! I truly hope that some day I can retire up there.....Aside from Colorado, Maine is truly my favorite place in the US! I miss it dearly! Looking forward to your pics!!!
Cool. I took a ride up to Freeport this morning to see what they had up there for used MINIs. I need to go back up there tomorrow to Autowerks to have the steering looked at in my wife's 04.
Hey,
Our goldendoodle loves to ride in the back of my Clubman. I'll have to post some pics soon. And if anyone finds themselves up in Saco, Maine, be sure to stop into my wife's new store for dogs and cats. Sooper Dogs (get it? Sooper Cooper). http://sooperdogs.com
Hey Tim! I just saw this. I'll definitely stop by the store next time I'm down that way.
Are you still my work neighbor?
Are you looking at buying another MINI? (Your post about Autowerks) That was the first place I ever drove a MINI last Fall. It was an '05 Justa and their asking price was only slightly less than new.
Oh, Baxter, my Golden, absolutely loves to ride in the MINI. He would enjoy the front seat more than the back, though. I'll have to take pics of him in it. Can't believe I haven't done that yet!

Ordered Nov 17, 2008; Arrived in NYC on 12/14; delivered to my door on 12/23!
Tedswoods sorry to hear of your loss in May. We had to put our Lab down 2 years ago and we still miss him very much...he was 13 and had terminal cancer. We did our best to keep him comfortable and on pain patches but the day finally came. One of the saddest days in my lifetime.
On brighter notes....great pictures folks! The clubbie is great for hauling the doggies. I am recovering from a Total Knee Replacement I had on June 30th and this weekend I think we may be able to take the doggies out to the park! Its fun for them to socialize! May be tough because our dog park is multi tiered with wood chips all over....very nice but tough on a new knee!
Keep the pics coming!!!!!

Everybody asks how two Great Pyrenees fit in a MINI. Well: with room to spare! Every time we grab the keys, they think its a road trip for their benefit. And why not, the car is a blast to drive.

Reason: no picture on first try

BEAUTIFUL dogs Pyrs! Our pooches feel the same way when the keys are grabbed! Thanks for the pics!

My Dynamic Negatives, Murphy and Finagle
Murphy
Murphy was abused and dumped. When I adopted him, he was on his way to be put to sleep, 2 people had him on the end of those poles with the loops on the end around his neck. Adopting him was the stupidest thing I've ever done in my life, I'm so glad I did it. I love my extremely fear aggressive little man.
Finagle
I got a reputation by dealing with Murphy, joined the local dog club, put him in numerous obedience classes and just did my best to let him know that everything was not scary and didn't need attacked. So, when a feral little dog was trapped in a badger trap, someone called me and asked if I wanted to try and socialize her. I'd had Murphy 5 years and thought he was ready for another dog around. Finn has been an adventure. I quickly discovered how a 20 lb dog survived on her own - by being afraid of everything. She's apparently a shiba inu-x - not a good breed for obedience, so I tried her in agility. Wow, what a difference, agility has saved her (and me), taught her confidence and built a bond between us.
Here's the only picture I've managed to take of Murphy "attacking" someone - as soon as I realized the snowman was not going to sue me, I took pictures instead of stopping him (note the fear part of the aggressive, leaning back, hackles raised).
and Murphy also does agility now
Finn chasing a pheasant (upper left hand corner - follow her eyes to see the pheasant)

Hi all Dog Lovers!!!!!! My doggies definetely are fans of "their" weegle [beagle/weiner] mobile!! We recently purchased a "Poochstyle" mat ... I am not too impressed with it ... but it'll do ...
Here are my first posts of the Clubman Dogs!

Tookie our mini weenie doesn't like it in the boot =] he prefers to be a driver or @ least a front seat passenger! Kayogi the bigger beagle is all for car-rides, if he had it his way, he'd be in the front seat with his head out the window @ all times!! Baloo, he's our little thunder chicken, sometimes he's a little nervous on car-rides!!

Great thread everyone! I meant to comment on this one a few weeks ago, but it just keeps getting better!
Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to Ted (aka ted) in May. It's been really tough adjusting to life without her physically here. Seeing all these great pictures puts a smile on my face, and that's exactly what I needed tonight!

I am deeply sorry for your loss ... I cannot imagine your pain.

I'm so sorry to read your post about Ted's passing. It is extremely tough to lose a well loved, and loving, dog. I know only too well. They are as Edith Wharton wrote the "heartbeat" at one's feet.
I've posted this before on other threads but here is a link to one of the most beautifully written and touching, without being maudlin, tributes to the well loved dog - written by Eugene O'Neill: http://www.eoneill.com/texts/blemie/contents.htm My guess is that Ted would approve. I hope you find it as helpful as I have over the years.

I'm sorry all you folks who had kind words for me; it's been a while since I checked this thread. As a needed diversion, we went last weekend to see some Newfoundland Water Rescue trials. In my younger days, I was fortunate enough to have a Newfie in my life. It was great to to be around those big lugs again--they're great dogs!
Keep posting pics--it's wonderful to see everyone's 'best friends'!
sgtjosh, it looks like you have the official checkerboard mini cargo protector.
How do you like it? It's about the same proce as the poochstyle one and I'm trying to decide which I should get.
Anyone else have an opinion on them? I would like one that works with the seats up or down if that's possible. it's an expensive accessory and it looks like I'll have to buy one or another without seeing them first.
Once I have one, I'll post some cute doggie-in-the-clubman pictures.
Thanks,
Cris

I love this thread... I was waiting for the arrival of my clubbie in 2 weeks in order to take photos of my dog inside... However, my dog couldn't wait... I had to put him down earlier tonight =*(
He had a fever since last weekend and has been in and out of the animal hospital trying to fight it off. He had a battery of tests done on him and they didn't find cancer or diabetes, etc... he had the vet stumped. She did a lot to research what was wrong, but by today, he just didn't have any fight left in him... his immune system was exhausted.
When my MA emailed me saying I may receive my Clubbie in 2 weeks, I couldn't really feel excited about knowing I have lost my dog of 12 years. He was a shih-tzu bichon mix... a really good and loving dog.
