I have a Dark Silver with Black top on order with a sunroof. I ordered the Black Sport Stripes that change to Silver on the roof. They will not run across the sunroof. There is a guy over on the MINI2 site (daro911) that has the same set up. He has pictures in this thread (46.6mpg Clubman "S" Auto) in the Clubman section. I personally think this makes the car.

My plan is to have the contrasting roof stripes (red in my case) go right across the glass of the sunroof - just like "07chilired" (see here). This will be accompanied by sport stripes that extend through the hood scoop and down the bumper. Imagine this, but as a clubman.
Now, after seeing that one on the mini2 board, that's looking pretty good too!
Decisions, decisions...

My MA just let me know the port will not install the roof stripes with a sunroof. WTF? Then why is this listed as an option in the configurator? There is a local company that will install them. I will have a lot of fun if they try to charge me for the install. Hopefully by this time tomorrow I will have forgotten how long this has taken, and all the follow up I have been required to do.

Other than at the dealership I haven't seen many around and I do get some looks as I go by. My Clubman was actually the managers car and it's been on the road for only a few months I believe the build date is 01/08. The only option I had to add was the stripes and armrest. The dealer has indicated that they are selling very well.

I called yesterday to add white sport stripes to my roof and the lady in parts told me the "part" (the stripes) are $85 and then service dept said they are and additional $100 to the $400 I am paying for the sport strips in the first place. No one has told me yet that I can't have them with a sunroof... I have heard that but how hard is it to cut a sticker?? I can't imagine it being much different than installing window tint... I could be wrong but really how hard could it be? (then again I have NO idea how window tint is installed lol)

Quick update. The port refused to install the roof stripes because I have a sunroof. I left my Mini at the dealer today to have the stripes installed today. That was at 7:30 AM. Evidently it takes a little time because they asked to keep the car til tomorrow. I am actually hoping the kept the Mini to install my NAV DVD that they claim is on back order across the country. As soon as I have the stripes I will post a picture.

My MA told me the the sport stripes get installed at the dealer NOT the VDC... so I am confused, I already emailed for clarification... I'll let you know what I find out.

Hi guys,
I am not certain about the dealers in your area but I am almost positive that the stripes are outsourced to a shop or the dealer has someone come to the dealership to install, at least that has been my experience. When I needed some bubbling taken away from my bonnet stripe, the SA told me the "guy" who does the striping was not in on that particular day which leads me to believe that they call someone in. After all the stripes are from 3M, many shops can install them.

MiniHab - I believe the procedures and infrastructure to perform the work are different in Canada vs. the US.
In the US, due to their greater volume, have a pre-delivery distribution centre (the so-called "VDC") where things like stripes and aero kits can be installed. So the US cars leave England, arrive in the US, have extras applied/installed at the VDC, and then go to the local dealer.
North of the boarder, we have no equivalent distribution hub. I believe anything other than the "standard" bonnet stripes need to be outsourced locally; after the car arrives.
