I was just wondering what kind (year) of classic mini Charlize Theron drove in the begining of the film? and if anyone has a pic that would be awesome. Thanks
>>Thanks for the replies, anyone have some pics of it? thanks
It's best to get the DVD and watch it but here are a few.

When I watch the movie, I was expecting it see a 1275 Cooper S that has exposed door hinges but it did not. I believed all the 1275S North American import up to the last year has exposed hinges. The dash in this looks to be a much more contemporary after the importation to the US has stop. I don't know if subsequent Cooper S was made with hidden hinges.
That very car just sold at auction for over 35K!!!!! I'd almost pay that to have Charlize drive the snot outta my '60 Mini. Mmmmmmm.... Charlize.... drool.

Not all cooper S's are made with out side door hinges, only MK1 and Mk2 have hinges on the out side, and the car is not a cooper sport 500 because all late coopers came with sport pack archers and the last 500 had silver roofs and silver stripes. here is a link to our club site from the UK www.fabmoc.co.uk if you are intrested

You can tell by the badge and the seats that its relatively new. I have a 1990/1991 (not sure) Mayfair, and its headrests are more squared... and has the gray & red Rover Mini badge.
Cinema Vehicles who put the car together for the movie was nice enough to let us use it at an event last march in Malibu.
Here is a pic of it next to my CR/W MCS:
a Closeup:
They also did the cars for Starsky & Hutch and built the 'Eleanor' cars for Gone in 60 Seconds.

That is one awesome classic Mini. I just watched the movie again and loved watching that Mini zipping through traffic!

so, it has a Rover steering wheel with airbag, ect... it is clearly not a 1970 classic... how did they get it past DOT?
