1275 Cost?

I have a 1977 mini with a good running 1000cc engine in it. It's going to be used as a autocross car for my wife (one day). Im still in England but I dont really have the extra money to buy one, before I move next month. My question is if I dont buy one over here, what will I have to pay for one later in the states. I dont see any on ebay. Thanks Shawn

If I were you I'd look for a worn out core that can be rebuilt while you are in the uk for cheap. You can get it rebuilt here for a few grand but engine cores are harder to come by.

Those off the shelf engines are nice but you are paying for the convienience of having an already done drop in engine.

I have a friend that has three 1275s sitting in his garage. Im going to try and trade a motorcycle for them. Maybe sell two keep one when I get home. I dont know a lot about mini stuff in the states. I bought my first one over here. I have most everything I need for my two cars. For a long time. Im just thinking of things, I mite later kick myself in the a-- for not getting wile I was here.
