Well I'd say its a very rare mk2 Austin Cooper 'S' shell.......1275cc produced between 1967 -1969.....YOU LUCKY so-n-so...........DO NOT scrap and keep it as orignal as possible...........as for the engine and box would be hard to find an orignal 'S' replacement.......... Would you be willing to have one shipped to the USA as I might be able to put my hands on one over here ON Jersey C.I.:thumb sup:

I've been begging for years to get this car. My stebrother has been holding out saying he wanted to do the restoration, then he was going to give it to his kid (who never showed any interest). Out of the blue yesterday he called and said he was coming over with the car. Surprised the s**t out of me. He has had this car since the early 70's and at some point the engine or tranny blew and not clear on where the engine is now. I plan to keep it as close to stock as possible. It seems to be an original S imported as new in 1968? Confused since the vin suggest Mkl and adges say Mkll also windows would suggest Mkl but grill is Mkll i believe. Has all the S stuff, dual tanks< 130 mph speedo. Looks like 6" cosmics with a matching spare in the trunk.
Should be a long expensive but fun build.

"long expensive but fun build" X2

Great potential, hopefully you can track down the engine. Should be fun for the rest of us to watch.

Its defo a mk2 shell as the rear window is the later wider glass mk1s were smaller............as for the glass some times the factory had a surplus quantaity of mk1 parts and they were fitted to early mk2 models ......

Try to go back to original, you don't see alot of Mk2 S's, finding an engine may take some time.

Thanks guys. It will be a slow project but I plan to keep it original. Looks like a 9/68 build from the wiper moter. Can't tell from the boot latch, just see a faint 33 followed by unreadable numbers. Most of it is complete, had a box of parts inside with chrome headlight rings and other bits. Radiator in the boot along with a new spare 6x10 cosmic to match. Also an intake that looks like it's for a weber? All the seats are in good shape but very dirty and the foam is toast. The left tank has some rust that looks like it goes through, didn't want to push to hard. Once racing season is over and my honey do list is narrowed down I should be able to take it over to let Don at Mini Mania give it a look.
