a gathering of minis

here on the Island of Jersey we tried to get 50 mini together for a celebration of the mini's 50th on Sat 19th Sept so here are some pics of the 60 mini's that turned up on the day

Love Tartan Red and Black roof Minis

Tony's Tart! Magazine featured, 1380cc Swiftune motor and Brown Draylon interior including Recaros/Cobras!

Like this, not sure whats under the bonnet-probably an engine doh!

Mine's the blue one

This green one is a 1380cc stripped-out racer, I've driven it and I concluded that A=its bloody horrible to drive and B=Its bloody fast! Owner also owns:

This is lovely, restored but not overly done like so many restorations.

I find a basic 70s Mini 1000 very appealing.

I can't quite remember the story to this, I think this may have been the last Mini sold in Jersey, it is a Mini Seven with only 7,000 miles on the odo and for sale.....

1959 Mini owned by the Pallot family who organised the show, spends most of its time as part of their car collection in the Steam Museum. Note the two gentlemen standing behind, both of them belong to the 'Putting Your Sunglasses On Your Cap' brigade, they are both captivated by an ant traversing a blade of grass.

Owned by a local nut-job who was allowed out for the day by the men in white coats, Mark you have a lovely car with some really nice touches-love the cream wheels/rocker cover/dials and was suprised to note the paint was a metallic flip-only noticed when the sun came out!

I love this Mini van, If I could I'd ask it to marry me but I can't so I won't. A whole load of want right there.

Hyabusa engined madness

I drove this Mini back to its owners and its by far the nicest Mini I've ever driven, only 1000cc but just sweet as a nut and so smooth on the bumps, not keen on the rear lights though with that colour though.

Love the colour!

How Low? Note Austin Powers in the background checking his Pokemon collection or some such.

Ah that low, some pleasant young ladies stepped out of this with their gentleman friends, driver gives cheery wave on the roads so top marks all-round.
