back plate

I need some front back plates for my car. i was wondering if any one had some that they sell me.

What are "front back plates"? Have you tried GBCarparts, Mini Mania or Moss?

the TWIN LEADING SHOE drum brake back plates for 64 to 84 are parts 114-135 and 136 and MM has them listed and on 'special' for gulp $138 each plus shipping

Seven says $160 ....

but if you have the single shoe Seven has those for $50 each ....

guess we know why you might be lookin for used but good....

Have you tried to salvage yours? I pulled mine (well rear wheel back plates anyway - disks up front) and wire brushed the heck out of 'em then gave 'em two coats of POR to stop any rust....only problem I see is POR is not a heat resistant coating and when I used the silver it changed color. Didn't peel but it scorched when I used it on the drums themselves so we'll have to see how it works in the long term. So far after 1 year - but little driving - all is well.

I also pulled all my backplates front and rear, sandblasted them and used Rustoleum Hi-Heat primer and sprayed the outside surface with gloss black paint and the inside surfaces with matte Hi-Heat paint.

So far so good.......

Out of England you are looking at $100 per backplate. Or you can get a complete backplate assembled with new cylinders, pads, & springs for approx $145.

yup the front twin back plate for drums. i pulled them off because the adjusters were stuck put heat to team and got them to work. put them back on the car and it is stuck again then i just rounded the thing off. i think i can get by with just a new right side but if i can get both that would be great.
