For the R56's, there is a 'sticky' at the top of the Electrical Board that outlines which circuits are on and when.

Not sure how that might apply to your Cabrio, but I used it to select a "30G" circuit and used a
Buss Fuses HHH Acessory "Mini Add-A-Line" to power my XM-Radio for :30 minuites after ignition is off.

There are other circuits ("30") that are always active, but then you need to be concerned about battery charge state.

Bought the 'add-a-circuit' at Advance Auto for $7 and you could also get a cig-plug with wire,
to connect and hide in a convenient spot.
thanks for the great informatiom, Pilot!! appreciate it, since most of this is Greek to me, I will copy and past for my Electrician Hubby he will understand this i'm sure!!!
thanks!!

Greetings, everybuggy! Although I'm sore and a tad sleepy, I'm in a pretty good mood for a Monday, all things considered. It was 62 damp degrees out this morning, so of course the windows were down and the sunroof open, radio blaring on the way to work. Playing Italian Job music doesn't make me drive any slower....

You sound like my daughter... except we can't figure out what's wrong with her. She sounds like a barking seal (no joke), has been running a pretty high fever.

I hope you get better very quickly. No fun!

Gem,, so sorry you are still sick and doubly sorry about the 100 $ price tag for meds. But I am impressed that you still went out and washed and waxed Nugget!!
wow! What a woman!! Do any of you "freebies" use that clay bar application on your MINI's? It sounds like it does a really good job.

Hi sika!! I think spring fever has hit... I have been hiking with the dogs and cleaning up around in the yard. Sounds like gem was hit by it too. And uhoh is probably frantically trying to prevent her snowmini from melting and flooding the mini garage...

While Vivi (TNMiniMama) and I probably ARE "sisters from a different mother", HER poor daughter has the barking seal cough. (Unless you count my cat and two dogs, I don't have any kids!) But A+++ for effort. You're so nice.

Well, I don't know about YOUse guys, but we completely skipped spring and went headlong into summer. It's been 80 degrees or more for the past two+ days now!

Oh, and speaking of activities, my neighbor is at it again. Yesterday, he admitted to me that he's caught on to me: when he hears me cursing (specifically "SON * OF * A * $%$^%!!!"), he runs for the camera. Yesterday afternoon, I was plugged into my iPod (so I couldn't hear a thing) and was wrestling with our broken Lil'Giant extension ladder out the back door - it refuses to collapse - trying to get it out the door and to sit right so I could scrape the back porch. And cursing of course. I must've been at it for about ten minutes when I saw a flash go off. Neighbor was practically killin' himself laughing his butt off falling over the railing to get a picture of me from his balcony next door. He just thinks I'm the funniest thing - he, I, and hubband got into a discussion, and the two of them talked about how lucky it was neighbor wasn't following me around the house to catch all the funny stuff! (nice backup, there, hubband. )

I used it on the roof and it really makes the finish slick. Evidently it cleans "contaminants" that get embedded in the clear coat. It will also remove swirl marks left by using too coarse of a polishing compound. I've used Meguiars clay bar kit. http://www.superiorcarcare.net/megui...-clay-kit.html

Worked good for me so far. What ever you do, if you drop a clay bar on the floor or ground, just throw it away. It picks up everything, including dirt and sand grit.

Hey Cab, it's ok... I often have to go through the names of all the horses, my dogs, stepchildren and husband/son before I get to my husband or son's name. My daughter just has to deal with being called by one of the cat's names...
And for some reason, I started giggling out loud at the gum/walking comment. Don't know why, but it just hit my funny bone!
My girl is doing better, ended up last night with a fever, but this morning she's as cool as a cucumber. Hopefully that means school tomorrow?! Although she's been a GREAT companion, even sick, these past few days. I really love the person she's becoming and the one she already is. Just wish she'd stop getting into the miracle gro... Can't keep that child in clothes and shoes (she's been wearing my shoes for a year and a half, now I wear hers!)

Happy Tuesday Freebies! Oh, and if you get a chance, wander over to Random Thoughts and wish RedDragoon a happy birthday!

morning everyone!!!
TN- I hear you on the "barking seal" comment....

Cab- I'm a believer on moving around to "forget" that I don't feel good! but this is the worst and longest headache i think i have ever had! When you had this I couldn't even imagine... now....

X- sounds like you have such a great neighbor, but then again should like you are a fun neighbor!!

Hal- how do you use the clay bar, do you wash the car first then use this? Is it just a whip on process? I also read somewhere someone cuts the clay bar in 3's so if it drops on the ground you don't have to throw then entire bar out.

You could always ask...

One of the guys I follow on twitter works for a local news station. He's their web geek guy and on his lunch break he goes out to his car, curls up in his sleeping bag in the back seat and takes a nap until his lunch hour is up.

I can't see why they wouldn't let you get away with that one LOL!

Oooohhh nooooo uhoh!!! (sorry,, couldn't resist) go home and rest,,,, believe me, they will HATE you if you pass it on to them!

If any of you want a time reference on how long this hangs around, I am still coughing!! But I feel much much better,, there is life after this diseased state!
Funny story, I headed out early for an appt and left probably like 5 minutes later than I would have liked. Then, while driving I notice that I really should stop for gas. So, I did a few moments of worrying of what to do, what to do! and decided filling up would be a lot more time efficient than hiking with a gas can in my hands.
so I fill up and walk up to the cashier to get a refund ( our grocers give you money off on Exxon fuel) and when I return to Sloopy I have a lady standing by my car and of course she loved it, and who makes them? Do you mid if I look inside? And on and on,,,, which any other time would have been fun, but not when I am now like 10 minutes late for an appt!!

But I was able to make up some time on the road (yes, like my son said, she is peppy!) so it was aaalll good.

Hello all. Gem, I have only clay-barred my MINI once. I know, I know, MINI neglect, but it is a time consuming project. I believe it took me a day and a half to clay bar and wax. You will have to wash the car first. Then you break out the clay bar. Usually you get a bottle of detailing spray. You spray a small area with the detailing spray then rub the area with a small piece of clay bar. Keep the surface wet with the detail spray, if the clay bar starts to stick you need more spray. Rub the area until it is glass-smooth. Check the clay often, if it starts to get dirty kneed the clay then continue on. If the piece gets really dirty start with a new piece. It is a time consuming project, but it will leave your paint glass-smooth. After I clay-barred then waxed I tossed a towel on the roof, it was so slick it slid right off the other side!!

My dad builds cars and told me that most modern paints don't require this technique (claybar) unless there is some grit on the car that you can't get off otherwise with a simple rinse and wash. But I do know that MINI paint is softer than most other paints...

Any thoughts on this?
