Need a shop for Window Tint & Vinyl

Hi All,
I just picked up my first MINI @ 3 weeks ago and am itching to get to customizing. Looking for a place to get racing stripes installed and full legal tinting on my R60. I'm in McHenry but don't mind traveling for a great shop especially since the rides have been fantastic of late. Please post your recommendations... I know there are a couple of previous posts on this topic, but they are a bit older so any updates would be appreciated.

vinyl wrap/ tinting

i have a coupe, i had the roof vinyl wrapped at this place in villa park http://x-tremewraps.com/ excellent job, and very reasonable. for my window tinting, i had a place in chicago ridge do it, they are on southwest highway just north of 103rd...but the extreame wrap shop, has a shop next door to them that does window tinting as well. here is a link to my coupe pic https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...l-call-57.html for the life of me, i have a hard time posting pics

Check out GZ sign designs. In roselle, IL. I've had several cars tinted and they wrap all kinds of random cars, trucks, rv's.

Ask them about the BIG yellow truck.. It's Mine..! they double tinted the windows to insure they match all the way around.. let's in only 6% light .. not to bad on an Ozone action Day!!

Thanks again for the help guys. I got my windows done and I think I'm gonna wait until next spring for stripes. I've got a number of things to do yet this year like winter wheels & tires, mud flaps and rear bumper protection.

So where did you end up going? Just picked up a MCS this week and was looking for a place for tint. Friend of mine has been very happy with Umbra in Schaumburg but I'm open for other suggestions.

I went to Auto Image in Barrington, they handle the detailing and tinting for the Motor Werks dealerships. Couldn't wait a month for an appointment at Umbra. Windows look great, but were apparently really difficult to get perfect with the length of the weather stripping on the doors and the curvature of the windows. The other shops are a bit of a haul from me as I'm on the border of NW Lake/NE McHenry counties. Both GZ & Xtreme do seem to be really great options for vinyl in the spring though

I know this thread is a couple of years old, but I am looking to get my windows tinted and wanted to know how your tinting held up. I'm located in the same area as you are, so this shop is probably the closest to me.

Thanks!

Still looks good, and they warranty the work so if you're not happy for any reason they'll fix it for free.
