Going to Tire Rack

Wednesday I am heading to tire rack in South Bend since it is cheaper then the 90 dollar shipping cost.

When I was shopping for tires, not even including the shipping charges, it was cheaper to buy them locally. Tire places usually charge higher rates for mounting/balancing/disposal as they didn't actually sell you the tires; so they'll try and make up the difference that way. The only way I found it to be worth it is if TireRack is having a ridiculous sale, like they were on the Bridgestone RE01s a couple weeks ago. Or if you buy a wheel/tire combo from TR, or you have the capability to mount and balance your wheels/tires yourself.....or you've got a buddy that will do it for a case of beer.

Not trying to talk you out of giving them business. Just research the places around you for how much they charge to mount/balance/dispose of the old rubber. Unless the actual store has mount/balance/disposal services? I don't know. I've never actually seen a Tire Rack store.

Do they charge you tax if you pick it up? I know I did not get charged tax when I bought my tires. Shipping was under 40 bucks but they were just tires, no wheels. The difference might still be worth a trip.

Costco and $14 to install balance and mount, plus lifetime free rotation
and free road hazard warranty.
The prices are also usually either the same or even less then tire rack.
One problem is Cook county sales tax.
Once every 2 month they have a $70 off a set of Michelin tires.
For our cars they have the awesome all weather Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus

I got new rims and tires from tirerack and it was a pretty awesome place to see. Bought the tires and rims ahead of time made an appointment on the car and on my way within 30minutes.

I recommend them.
