Does anyone recommend a detailer for installing bonnet stripes in the North/Northwest Suburbs? Also, how much did you pay? I have the stripes, but I just don't trust myself installing them. Thanks.
Best vinyl installer / designer in the norther burbs that I know is:
Eddie Shamo
Advantage Auto Accessories
Buffalo Grove, IL

I found him originally through Knauz (he does their vinyl work). if you call him he should quote you a flat price over the phone. Tell him that Taylor suggested him.
He is mobile provider and comes to you. He re-did some graphics for me on my bonnet and did a very nice job. If you are a CMMC member he will give you a discount of I think 10% (check the CMMC vendor listing for details).
The most recent thing he did for me was a vinyl covering for my headlights. He'll remember that b/c it was pretty unique.
With a couple of Hudson Valley MINI Cooper MINIacs, yesterday, I replaced my bonnet stripes AND installed a set of boot stipes in exactly 3.25 hours... that includes removal of the old, claying and prepping the surfaces and application of the new stripes. As long as you take it slowly, the application is VERY straightforward and in fact easy. I've never done anything more than installing window decals. My dealer's Parts guy (who sold me the bonnet stripes) gave me a look like, "You're going to them yourself? We really recommend we do it at the dealership. They cannot be returned if you screw it up." Well, at $125.00 per hour, minimum of two I did them myself and they look fantastic.
Where credit is due: I got the boot stripes from http://www.AesthetiCreations.NET

I went with Steve at Specialized Signs and Graphics. He also does the work for Bill Jacobs MINI. He did a great job on the bonnet stripes and the installation of the clear bra on the hood and bumper. I would highly recommend him, and he will even come to your house. I'll post some pictures, when I get a chance.

I had a terrible experience with Specialized Signs and Graphics went through Bill Jacobs as well. Had them install boot stripes, I was a little hesitant to try it myself. But after seeing the quality of work I think my 8yr old son could have done about as good a job. Brought it back after the initial install to have them redone and still they have bumps and the edge is already pulling up after a little more than 6 months.
