I had some work done at Axels Automotive in Lake Bluff this summer (leaky power steering pump, and removing some frozen bolts holding on my skid plate).

I was very happy with both their price and service.

I am taking my 2nd MINI there tomorrow for new camber plates to fix my cracked one.

The Rover Shop

I just had Glen at the Rover Shop in Lake Villa do some work on my MINI, wheel hubs and control arm bushings (Ireland Urethane).

He was easy to work with, informative and delivered my car cleaned (inside and out).

He charged me quite a bit less the the dealer quoted me, I probably saved over $500!

Here is a link to his website: http://www.therovershopinc.com/cooper.html

good experience at EuroQuipe in the western suburbs

Had an H-Sport 19mm rear sway bar installed on my R56 at EuroQuipe in St. Charles today ... Kurt did the tech work, fast and easy; Brad is the guy out-front to talk to -- reasonable on the labor costs, too

+1

I use import service center and the owner there is a great guy.
They do a good job and have a reasonable price.

Most important Dan (the owner) owns and drives a Mini
Also in June, Way Motor Works was there installing performance upgrades, so this shop has a commitment to Minis and knows what they are doing

+3 for Import Service as well..

for all Cabrio (R52) owners... if you need your top repaired (won't open bc cable assembly broke) and you're out-of-warranty... call Hubbard Woods Motors in Winnetka - 847-446-0711. ask for Tad and tell him Francis sent you. very happy with the results

Another shop to consider is VFC Engineering. They are located 4657 N. Ravenswood, just a couple of blocks North of Montrose. This shop specializes in Porsche, Audi, BMW & VW and is branching out to include Mini & Rover.

Well, considering that I work there... I give it nothing but praise!!! Just had a 2009 convertible in with a smashed out back window... she is thrilled with the work and thanks us for not having to return to the dealer.
