Hey to all CMMC members and Friends!
I had an idea for this month's theme, "Black". Since, there is a small group attending the Chicago Auto Show this weekend, I thought this would be a good opportunity for a quick photo shoot. My idea is that we set up in a dark area of the underground parking of McCormick Place. We park in manner that we are only partially revealed, mostly in the dark. Lights off or on? That'll be a field decision. That is my interpretation of this month's theme. Below is a map of the underground parking locations. Does anyone have intimate knowledge of the parking to suggest a location?
I'm also open to suggestions on my idea or anyone else's.
Oh...and this is a laugher. My OLD digital camera does not meet the resolution requirments for the contest. Is anyone willing to volunteer their camera? I don't need to be behind the lense.
We will be shooting to park in Parking lot A at McCormick place, but we probably won't have a choice of where we are parked (they usually direct people to the spots)
The start of the group drive is at the Northwestern Parking garage (on the upper level).. Perhaps we can hit the lower level before leaving if something looks good for a photo shoot.
I suspect we will have a bunch of dirty cars due to the weather unfortunately.

You have a point about McCormick Place parking. Maybe, if we get extremely lucky, that will be a second option. Otherwise, let's see what opportunities arise at the Evanston Parking Lot. Maybe we should meet 30 minutes earlier? How can we spread the word to the other attendees?

You can try adding a comment letting people know what you would like to do on the Chicago MINI Motoring Club site.
I'll be there a little bit early (as will some others I imagine), but I don't think we can change start/meeting times at this point. Probably your best shot is to scope out the area while we are waiting for all to get together, and if there is a good spot, direct everyone to where you would like the photo taken as we are ready to leave. With the predicted cold weather I don't think people are going to want to spend more than a few minutes at it though...
Hello TJ, I don't know if you have a deadline to meet. If you don't you may be better off booking a date and a few location this summer when the weather would be better. I'm sure there are many local MINI owners that would love to be in your pics, but given the weather and timing this Sat is not one of them. Just my 2 cents.
I think he wants to get a shot to submit for the February NAM photo contest... the deadline is in a few weeks... I'll be there tomorrow, but not early enough...

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the suggestions and comments. We'll just play it by ear. If it happens, great. If not, can't be too disappointed. There was not much time to prepare between the announcement of this month's theme and our meet for tomorrow.
See you guys tomorrow.
