Cool. I'm originally from Peoria, so I'll just be staying at my parent's house. If things get slow, we can hit the 3 twisty roads in town.

There's more than 3 twisty roads in the Peoria area.

We have a member there that is working on the routes. She's a "Driver" and will find safe, fun roads for us to enjoy.

Plus we get to meet many new MINI owners from other states that don't make it to our local events.

How long does it take to get to Peoria, again?

I've been taking a modified 'scenic' route that takes about another 30 minutes to an hour, but it's a lot more interesting than the interstates.

55-80-IL71 through Starved Rock- IL26 down the east side of the river - US24/150 to Peoria

But if you're interested in the absolute fastest route, don't take 55 to 74. You add about 15 miles to your trip. Take 55 to US24.

ok, sounds fun. We'll be a "maybe" as it depends on whether we are in Rockford that weekend for Region II soccer playoffs (or not).

Being a Bradley Alumni (in Peoria) I made more than my fair share of trip to and from Peoria - no matter which way I went it was almost always the fastest to take 55 to 74... it may be longer but it is quicker 65 vs 55 + towns...

I guess the question becomes which route is less heavily traveled by and/or peppered with gendarmes

Ahhhh, as a wise one had said; it's not about the drive but the journey.

The Caravan from Bill Jacobs will take 55 to 74 to the 11am lunch meet and greet. It is the easy way. There will be lots of non-interstate driving to be had once we get there. Anyone that wants to take another route is welcome to do so.

Daughter no. 2's team made regionals, so we will be in Rockford that weekend instead of Peoria. Maybe next year.
