Don't know if anyone has seen it yet but I was driving through Georgetown today and I saw a MINI ad on the back of a bus stating that...yes... there is going to be a MINI dealership in Alexandria coming this summer of '09! I think its going to be the first one ever inside the beltway! Passport BMW is the lucky winner for an influx of MINI customers. Whatever the case, I was elated.
As much as I love MINI of Sterling, I bought my MINI there and the staff has always been really cool with me, my commute from Alexandria has always been a hassle. While scenic, I'd usually have to battle the dreaded I-66 corridor traffic that holds up I-495 from Braddock road to Tysons and the Dulles Toll road and its tolls if I wanted the "short" route. On top of that its basically like a 40+ minute commute, which basically shoots down most of my day if I had some minor warranty work to take my car in for.
I know I'm probably whining since I'm sure a lot of MINI owners have to drive a lot farther for dealerships but I'm happy my commute has now been cut by 30 minutes.
I was so excited to see the ad on a bus as well!!! They are having some sort of grand opening event - it's on the website passportmini.com... It will be great having a dealer 5-10 mins from my house rather than 40+ minutes. Anybody know when they are opening? I'm thinking of ordering a new MCS soon.
