A few weeks ago a rock hit the my GyPsy leaving a ding, a paint chip and a broken glass. The glass was replaced on the same day thanks to the superfast service of USAA, but I am left with a paint chip and a small ding. While the insurance co. suggested to repaint the whole quarter panel (driver's side ) I am afraid that the new paint coat won't match the rest of the GP and someone suggested to have the ding removed and have the chip touched up.. Can anyone suggest a place from the DC- Baltimore Metro Area ?
Thanks

I have a brochure I got from MoT from the PDR technician that does work for them. When Duane gave it to me, he told me they do great work. I don't have that brochure with me at the office but if you call and talk to one of the SAs there, they can give you the PDR tech's info, I'm sure.
How bad is the chip ? If it's bigger than about the head of a nail, I'd not go the PDR route. That'll be too much for you to touch up and have it look decent. Conventional repairs would be the way to go. And don't worry about them matching up your paint... those guys are really good at matching and blending.
There's an option between a full panel repaint and traditional touch-up - airbrush touch-up. Should be someone in your area who does that. They'll fill the chip, color match and blend, but only do that spot and a small surrounding area. Then clearcoat the small area they painted. Done right, it's very hard to detect, and maintains the factory finish on the rest of the panel (which is superior to a shop-applied refinish).

thanks for the tips guys. the chip is small so I will go with the ding removal and touch up paint as soon my Little One comes home from the shop. - Currently at MoA for brake work.
