So, I see the DC Metro MINI club is departing NAM. This would leave CAMM as the only regional sub-forum for this area. My guess is that will leave a lot of people finding this forum as their default local forum once they discover NAM.
I'm not sure what I'm trying to say here, but I think this sub-forum may get some more traffic.
Edit: Wait, there's also the Mid-Atlantic sub-forum. (I'm so confused!) But I'm not really sure what constitutes "Mid-Atlantic." What are the borders?
Most MINI guys are kinda hostile towards Suby's aren't they?
fixed for accuracy.
I've never heard a negative comment from Subaru guys about my MINI when I had it. Most of them wanted the key to take it for a spin actually. Whenever I've hosted an install day and invited MINI people, none show. This has been the case MULTIPLE times.
One DCMM'er even told me they'd come and then were a no-show. When I asked about it, I was told ''I don't want to hang out with Subaru guys. I only want to be around MINI owners". Funny, one of the local Subaru guys was a service adviser at BMW of Sterling and owned a MINI, but currently has a Lotus Elise, a 911 Turbo and an STI like mine. This notion of ''MINI people only"...well, that's not how CAMM rolls. Car guys first. Brand loyalty second.
To be honest, I've decided that any future days at my place are invite only. My time is short and I don't have time for uptight people who aren't there to: a) have fun b) lend a helping hand c) have fun.
The last install day back in the spring (only MINI was mine):
and the one before that (only MINI was my wife's):
Hey I totally missed this response somehow. Hopefully not too late to respond
Anyway, that's cool. It was a naive impression I had I suppose. I know I've been to some of Mach V's gatherings and enjoyed myself. Goldenchild I know also shows up to these things as well. I'm glad CAMM is all about openness and inclusion without prejudice ;)
