Just wanted to let you know about an upcoming driving skills clinic hosted by a non-profit educational driving club with which I volunteer and instruct in my MINI.
The North Atlantic Audi Club is pleased to offer a hands-on car control clinic on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH. Our car control clinic is a limited enrollment, family friendly driving event designed to provide participants with increased confidence through behind-the-wheel driving exercises incorporating real-world accident avoidance and defensive-driving techniques. Designed for newly-licensed and/or timid drivers alike. Experience what driver’s education cannot teach your teen driver.
Participants will enjoy over 6 hours of classroom and behind-the-wheel driving instruction focused on understanding vehicle dynamics, anti-lock braking and traction control systems through a series of exercises performed in a safe and controlled environment. Designed for newly-licensed and experienced drivers alike, participants will drive their own vehicle under the supervision of an experienced instructor and will learn how to react to impending danger with confidence, precision and control. We would hope that you would pass this along to friends who might be interested in learning what we as a club can do to help young drivers and those that might be a bit timid as well.
Thanks to Shell sponsorship, the clinic is only $50 for those under 21 and $99 for those 21 years and older.
It's a great way to get to know and love the way that your MINI or other car (not SUV, sorry!) handles in a variety of conditions!
