Atlantic Canada Sign in Sheet

Hey! If you've made it this far awesome! Thanks for making the effort in becoming a part of a special group of Mini Cooper owners!

What I've been doing is leaving invites on Minis I see through town seeing what response we can get!

There is not a lot here for Atlantic Canada Mini owners so it is time for that to change.

What we want to eventually accomplish is a following for the Mini Family in this part of Canada by getting together and sharing the expierence of owning a Mini!

So sign in, provide insight on places to meet, things to do, and any ideas!!

Oh, haha, tell us where you're from in Atlantic Canada, and what you're driving!

Moncton here!!

Hey,
Moncton NB here, I drive a 2003 Velvet red Mini, with a checker top.
Would love to meet other mini owners in the area but i'm surprised the lack of response from Atlantic mini owner, as there are quite a few around, especially here since we just got a dealership.
I have noticed a big difference in the friendliness of mini owners between here and the US. Took the mini to Jersey Shore last summer, we toured around New York city,Philly and the whole shore area and met many mini owners they always gave a honk, wave and a smile. Here if you wave, people seem to look down there nose at ya, like your strange, and the mini is some big status symbol. (the same thing between sport bike riders and harley riders)
Oh well. If you ever get something organized as far as a get together, let me know..always up for a drive in the mini!!!!

Fredericton, NB here, but drive a classic Mini (1987) imported from Wales a few years ago.
Thinking about someday getting a MINI but one never knows.

Howdy all,

Another Moncton signing on. '05 MC. I plan on lots of "driving nowhere" with this little puppy. And, if anyone here knows what Solo II is, I am returning to that sport after a 5 year break. I think the MINI will be a hoot to compete in.

Car was bought at MINI Moncton. So far they have been a 9/10 for me.

Ps: I'll wave!

Morning/afternoon/evening all

John and Robin here in Truro, 04 Electric Blue MC. A few tours/events would be kind of cool, but I have to admit most of my spare cash is going to renovations and lapping days at AMP.

Much excited to go to a lapping day and actually get to drive!

Anyone else interested search for Atlantic Sports Car Club, $30 a year membership, and $120 lapping schools happening every month this year till the season is finished (October?)

Would love to get together with a group of MINIs in Atlantic Canada. We're located just outside of Saint John, NB. Bought our '06 Checkmate from Halifax. Have been to the Moncton dealer for an oil change last year. All went well. Have spoken with them at length about organizing a meet in maybe Aulac, which is close for everyone from all provinces. Doesn't seem to be any interest with them. You would think with all the MINIs we see on the road now, they would try to organize something.

Since 2006, we have been heading to New Hampshire for MINIs on Top. Now that is a great bunch that know how to have a good time. Lots of MINIs and great people. This will be our 4th trip down. I also e-mail the MoT information to Moncton MINI, last year and this year. Once again, no interest.

I also suggested a meet in Sussex, NB on the weekend they have the Balloon Festival in late August, early September - still no reply.

If you think there is some interest out there, let's set a time and date and send out notices on the various sites and see what happens.

All we need now is a leader.....

Hey, some great ideas there. Would love to know more about MINI"s on Top. I think NH would be a great State for driving a MINI, next to driving in our back yard of course.

excellent! Well lets just have a get together soon get to know some faces and we'll talk about it over lunch or whatever.

I've stopped a few mini owners here and there and told them about it so far. I'm gonna keep at'er to get the interest up.

Do what you guys can and we'll aim for something in later part of June perhaps? Lets make a target of 20 minis! haha!

FINALLY!

Some Atlantic Mini Owners I can talk to :D

Dawn40 posted about some of the local Mini drivers not waving and such.. I hear that! Although a few around the Miramichi seem to be slowly warming up to the concept.

I bought my Astro Black Clubbie last year from Mini Moncton, and have been LOVING every single minute - minus getting stuck in the snow a few times over the winter - I used to drive an Explorer and I think I was being a bit eager...lol

Aaanyhow... please, let's try and organize a meet up! I'll be away for a week around Canada Day... but any other time this summer, and you can count me in. I'm always looking for an excuse to go on a roadtrip!

btw.. anyone else gone through the Cabot Trail yet with your Mini? My gf and I did it last summer in the Clubbie... 'twas amazing!

If anyone is passing through Moncton on Sunday I will be competing with my MINI at the Magic Mountain/Magnetic Hill site. The event gets underway around 1pm and will last for about 3-4 hours. http://armsinc.ca/index.html The link is for the organizing clubs and an explanation of what Solo II is all about.

Just one more way to enjoy a MINI!

Hi, just new here and a soon-to-be owner of a Hyper blue 2006 Cooper Soho edition. I'm in Saint John and would love to meet up with other enthusiasts!

This will be my husband and my 5th Mini. The first four were 70's era Austin Mini's. I am expecting the brakes will be better on this version!

I'm in Halifax as well.

Would enjoy meeting some other Mini owners. Perhaps a meet and cruise between now and New Years?

That would be great! Except I live now 5700kms away, and selling the mini as I don't need it anymore. Also it is not exactly practical where I live now, and will be moving to.

I hope that this Atlantic Canada scene gets going for you guys. I would have loved to got group of mini's together and kept the ball rolling..

Drive safe, my mini is on kijiji for sale, and have fun!

Just found this thread a few minutes ago.

My ride is Opus, a dark silver 2002 MINI Cooper S with white top.

I want to get into some track or course driving this summer. Anyone have any details?

I am going to the MINIs on top 2010 at Mt. Washington, NH, on June 25 and 26, 2010.

Went to the MINI Meet East Meets West in Winona, MN last year: a 7000 km two-week round trip

Looking forward to meeting you guys in the future!

Moncton and Fredericton have racing clubs, slalom, I believe. My nephew is big into that. Have you checked out the Atlantic Mini page on Facebook?
