Please post reply's to this thread to register for the July 11th rally and the party following the event.
Please send the name of your team and a list of it's members.
Cut off time for registration will be midnight July 6th.
Rules:
Have allot of fun.
You must be a member of BRM.
Rally commences at 10:00 AM with a mandatory drivers meeting at 9:30 AM at our new meeting location.
Tim will supply a map but a good county map (a list of specific counties to follow) book would be highly recommended.
You must have at least one navigator/partner (If you do not have one, we will supply one).
You must drive a MINI, MINI Cooper, Clubman, etc., etc., etc.
Each team will be spaced out in 5 minute intervals.
A drawing will take place to determine which teams leave in which time slots.
If you cannot figure out a check point, you can call me (Timmer) and I will help you figure it out. There will be a points deduction. Trust me, this is going to be real easy
Once you successesfully reach a check point, there will be an envelope to open with instructions. The instructions must be followed because this is the only proof I will have that you successfully made it.
If a rule is unclear or you have a question, please see the first rule.
Points:
100 points for each successful checkpoint reached.
75 points for successfully completing all the checkpoints in the quickest amount of time.
25 point deduction if you have to call Timmer for help.
50 points for every road you take to get to a check point that has the letter"C" in it.
25 points for every MINI you see along the way. This includes any MINI's you see at a check point.
5 points for every "free" item you pick up along the way that either has the letter "C" printed on it or has a "C" in it's name. Duplicate items per team will not be allowed.
5 points for every sign you see that has the letter "C" in it. You must write down the location of the sign and what it said.
In the case of a tie, each team's driver will drive three laps in a MINI on the MID oHIO race track using Timmer's "Race 07" simulator. The fastest lap wins!!!
Enjoy!

Guess I can't come then since I don't drive a "MINI Cooper". All I have is a "Real" mini that isn't a cooper.
Have fun at your BMW rally.
How funny...lots of Classic owners exclude the "new" MINI in events, but, when the shoe is on the other foot...they cry like hell and make the BMW "new" MINI organizers feel bad and change to accommodate them. It's too bad the some of the Classic event organizers cannot do the same. After all, if Rover hadn't gone belly up, we would ALL still be one.
It was an honest mistake. I was not aware there was a an issue between minis and MINI Cooper owners being invited to an event. I'm am new at this!
This whole rally is about having fun (Rule 1) and enjoying each others company. If rule 1 gets compromised, we can simply cancel this which would be a damn shame since I have put so much time and effort into. Heck, I am even assembling a real nice trophy and supplying all the food, drinks, etc.
I would truly like to keep this thread for registration only from here forward if that is not asking too much.
If you need to make a public comment, please use the rally update thread.
If you have any questions about this rally or have any concerns, please PM me.

I knew I was welcome from the start, saw not many people had signed up yet. figured when everyone started talking about wat that "jerk" gottamini posted they would have to come look and while they were there maybe they would sign up.
I have to work that day at 4 and will probably be driving to columbus that morning so I will not be able to make it anyway.
Everybody go so you can all tell me about what I missed, sounds like a blast.
For what its worth, I went yesterday to look at a used MINI that I thought about trading my Nissan in for. The price seemed right but it was an automatic so no deal. Guy just called me and said it sold this morning anyways.
Also, finally killed the gremlin that was living in my mini and it has never run better in all the time I have had it. Like having a new car.
I'll be there, and hopefully Tina will get the day off work so she can come too. Would it be OK if we bring both of our MINIs, but only drive one for the rally?

There will be a drivers meeting at 9:30. I will explain how this all works in detail. It will be very easy, allot of driving, some fun things to do along the way, and good food at the end
See you at breakfast. Am passing on drive. There is a reunion I need to attend, it has also become a fund-raiser for a former classmate who has breast-cancer. Good luck to everyone.

Well Unfortunately I have to bow out. My husband planned a camping trip with the Grands on top of the rally. Grands won out. I know lots of pictures will be taken, and great fun will be had by all of you so I hope you will share generously.
I will have to wait until next year for this event.
.... It seems as though my whole life will begin anew once I graduate in May '10... Then my time will be my own and I will be able to attend lots more - if not all - of the MINI events.
