JUNE 13-14 Revolution Mini Works(Jan) Tuning Party in Louisville

I've been emailing with Jan at Revolution Mini Works about getting a tune for my car. He's willing to come to our area to tune cars if we can get enough people to committ. Not sure how many people he needs to make the trip worth it. I've asked Jan for this info.
I believe the cost is $350 plus dyno time. Very reasonable for what you get.
Who's in? Also, what's the best way to allert other clubs in the area? Cincinnati, Columbus, Indianapolis, Nashville, etc.
This is a great opportunity for us. Let's jump on it!

I wouldn't mind doing this. It just depends on when it is. I've spent a lot getting ready for the Dragon and will be spending a lot more to be there.

I could very possibly be interested. What's he use to tune, does he reflash the ECU or what? What dyno would we use? I have a buddy with a Dyno here in Frankfort that might be up for it if you don't have anyone else...

Sweet! Can you explain the difference in a live tune and the way you have been doing them? Thanks!

Jan, how many cars do you need confirmed to make the trip? Do you want to come here after Mid-Ohio? It's about 4.5 hours by car....

I am in. Jan, if you need a place to do it, we can provide the warehouse that you picked up your GP at. Also, you mention dyno time. I don't think there is a shop near here that has a dyno that will take a lowered MINI. Do you have one available?

IF its in Louisville there are a ton of dyno options. Automotion's Dyno is ran by a friend of mine so I could get us in. Just depends on how you feel about a Mustang dyno. There are 2 there that can be used.

Prof: 3:37am? Do you sleep? Are you in on this with Jan? He'd like 8 cars. I think we're up to 4.

I talked with Jan today.
The dates are set! JUNE 13-14, 2009 in Louisville, KY.
Again, Jan is hoping for a minimum of 8 cars. 1 hour to 1.5 hours per car. R53 may be much faster, so we may be able to get as many of 15 cars done.
He's hoping to tune both days, depending on flights.
Please confirm with me if you want a tune so I can get firm numbers to Jan.
$350 for R50 and R53. Price isn't firm yet for R56, but Jan WILL BE TUNING R56 cars during this visit!
Professor, can you help with scheduling a dyno site? Full day costs?, willing to work Sunday? type of dyno, any other details? The cost per person will depend on the number of cars and any discount we may get for booking it for aproximately 1.5 days.

Thanks,

Fritz

People with lowered mini's have ground clearance issues on Mustang Dyno's. Dynapak is the choice for the lowered crowd.

I have not gotten around to the brand of the dyno but I have another place in mind right now. The dyno has "steady state load control" for all RPM tuning not just WOT. If we are going to be using their wideband pre cat it will be 800 bucks for an 8 hour day. I dont think many of us have a pre cat bung so its up to Jan what he wants to do. The price will be lower if we dont use the Wideband but imo its hard to tune without one.

Well guys pending Jan's approval I have lined up a DynoDynamics dyno at the rate of 100 bucks per car.

This is the only Dyno in the area with "steady state load control". So unless you just want a tune good for WOT this is the dyno for you.

Fritz I need to tell this guy something this week so let me know if its a go or no go.
