Clear Bra

What are your opinions on the clear bra issue.
My new Mini will be here in a week or so and I can't decided if I want this or not. Also, does anyone around here do this or do I need to go to a Mini dealer?

See this post. Sorry, I'm way out of your area, so this probably isn't helpful.

I'm a little reluctant to do it just because of wax buildup around the edges of it.

As long as you don't slather wax up against the edge of the film, it's really not that much of a problem. After 18 months, I finally had a slight buildup along the edge in a few spots, and a little gentle wiping with some isopropyl alcohol cleaned it right up.

My wife's MINI picked up seven or eight rock chips (which I had to fix) in the few months between bringing it home from the dealer and having the clear bra applied. On mine, the film was installed within days. I've been so happy with the solution that I've since applied a similar film to four iPods and two laptops. We're getting two iPhones when the new ones are released, and they'll have film applied as well, even if I have to custom-cut the pieces until the pre-cut kits hit the market.

Wax buildup on the edges is a non-issue.

I cannot say enough good things about paint protection film. I have had it on four cars and a motorcycle and my carbon fiber bicycle. Find a good installer and make sure they use a premium material (3M, etc).
