Fog light replacement

Todd wants almost $300 to replace my right front fog light assembly. It has a hole in the lens from a rock. It's been tehre a while, hardly noticeable, but water keeps getting in there and ruining the bulb. I think he said the part was $149. But, have a look here, for $62!http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sh...ight/mini.html

Anyone out there have any experience doing this or know someone who could do it cheap?
I guess I could call parker...

edit: even better, $50 !! http://www2.partstrain.com/store/ind...94965147+11921

Do it yourself! Find the part and then find the how to remove the front bumper cover and have fun while saving money.

have fun? hmm, if I find some instructions.. I'll decide from there whether or not I'm capable.

Be careful about getting the correct part. The ones you mentioned at $62 and $50 show images for the 1st gen MINI fog lamp. Check with Classic MINI for their price: http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...%2Fclassicauto

Tess,

Parkway Automotive might be able to do it for you. Give Mike a call and see if he does that kind of stuff. I'm not sure if this would be "body" work or just mechanic-ing.

yeah, i'll call parker tomorrow, but i'm going to bet it cost about the same either way. Whatever I do, I'm not paying $300 to get it done, I'll call Todd also and let him know he doesn't need to hold that part for me. It's just not worth it, if all else fails I can always cover the hole with something so water doesn't get in. Seriously, you'd have to on your knees bent down to even see the hole!

What about applying a dab of clear silicone sealant and seeing if that doesnt fill your hole?
