JD,
Welcome to MINI world! There are a few of us that do the auto X at War Memorial. I'm pretty sure that there will be at least 2 AMOK's this Sun. There is a guy that races regularly in a MINI and does extremely well.

As far as roads are concerned, if you go further north and west from Searcy, you will find some great ones. Up around Mtn. View, try out 341, 14, 9, 58, and several others. Seems like just about every road up that way is fun. Right around Searcy, I don't know of any, too much like delta, straight & flat, so head west and see what you find. I live in Hot Springs and there are some great roads around here, but it's a pretty good drive from Searcy. If you get down this way, post here and I'll clue ya in for here.

23, the Pig Trail, is Great, but there's traffic. Take it from I 40 and go north or try it from Berryville and go south. 123 off of Hwy 65 is nice too and the traffic isn't bad, it goes to Harrison. I think there are two sections, I've been on the north section and it's a GAS! Some cool switchbacks going down a mountain. It's cool. Try to join AMOK if ya can. We have a lot of fun and visit pretty much all parts of the state. It's really neat to be in a string of MINI's going over a mountain.

hey jd. CP here, pres of AMOK. i'll be autox tomorrow at war memorial. wish you could come and watch. i'm assuming you've been to the ar scca web site, arscca.org. the next time they are up your way is at newport airport in october. from now till september it's at war memorial once a month: 6/8, 7/13, 8/16, 9/28. i won't be there every month b/c i'm not a member yet and i would rather race the whole season than a portion of it.

the Klub hasn't been up to searcy if you want to host an event once you become a member. check out our web site, motoringamok.com and the calendar here on nam. we have some great events coming up. our big one is halloween weekend on mt. mag where we travel up the pig trail. the pig trail is good, but i like other roads better; those up near mtn view are my favs and 123 is good as well - like popeye was saying.
hope to see you soon.

Welcome fellow Searcian !! (well for another 3 days) You will love the new car, and i think you will have some company up here. I have a friend on the hunt currently for a MCS for his wife, plus i have seen a couple MCS (R53s) running around. Another Dark Silver one.

If you see a Dark Silver w/ white bullet wheels in town in the next few days, give a wave. Also, you are free to stop by and get a better feel for the Minis. Just PM and i will give you contact info.

Also, for a general car enthusiasts site, check out arrides.com. meets are semi regularly and then usually center around some type of event.

One last thing, check out arscca.org for auto-x schedule at War Miata/Mini/Memorial.
