MINI's to Mountain View

OK, here's the plan for our Mtn. View run on the 26th.

We will meet at 8:15 am and leave at 8:30 am from the McCain Mall parking lot (On the McCain Blvd. side of Dillards). We will drive up beautiful highway 5, to Mtn. View. Don't forget your radios.

We will go to the square, where we will meet Dana and hang out, have lunch, see the sights. Then meet back up at 1 pm for the ride we have all been looking forward to. Dana is going to treat us to another run around the GREAT roads in the Mtn. View area. He hasn't said where he's going to take us, but I'm sure it will be WONDERFUL!

After the ride, we will go to Dana's house for a cookout and after that head back to Little Rock, probably around 7 or 7:30.

This will be a VERY fun ride! If there is anyway that you can make it, DO IT! I am trying to get a head count for the event so I can let Dana know approx. how many for the cookout. Please let me know if you are coming. You can post here or email me direct. Hopefully, everybody has my email address, I don't want to put it here. If you don't, leave me a note here and I will send it direct to you via email.

Count me in! For those of you who missed this drive last year it was awesome! Dana knows the roads--some of which are limited access for several miles, so it will be a great ride. Super time of year to be out as well!
I'm looking forward to this one!!

We'll be there this year. Had to miss it last year so I can't wait to see the lovely Ozarks in Dana's part of the state this spring.

We'll also be going, but since we'll be bringing Bosley, we'll probably go up on our own. Bosley's a bit slow and wouldn't keep up very well. What time should we try to meet you in Mt. View?

RVExotics, we should be up there around 10:30 or 11 am. We are going to go to the square and hang out for a while, so we can meet ya there. Do you still have my phone number from the parade? Call me when you get there and we'll meet ya. Are you going to put Bosley in the car show? No sense in coming to LR, we'll meet ya up there.

Yeah, we're going to enter Bosley in the show. I doubt we'll enter whichever new MINI we take up there though. I do still have your number, or at least the one that ends in --93. Is that your cell?

Tess,
We don't have anywhere specific for lunch. I will email my phone number to ya and then when you get there you can buzz me. I assume you don't want to meet us in LR and will go up by yourself(?).

Looking forward to a great drive! Should we bring anything other than drinks to help with the cookout?

Oh goody. It worked. Had to put in a new signature picture with my new Oz Ultra Leggera wheels. Made a fast trip to Roadshow today and left Jim's Mini there to have clutch and steering problems fixed, plus get a new windshield. Should be ready to motor by Saturday.

Hi,
Dana says he has it all under control as far as the cookout is concerned. We will run to Wal-Mart or someplace and get drinks for everybody, but other than that, he's got it. I told him if there was anything else to let us know and we'd pitch in.

For those of you that want to go but haven't committed, we now have a destination. We will be going up Hwy. 9 toward Melbourne and back to Mtn. View via 14. It will be a great ride with lots of twisties! Give it some thought and try to join us!

It sucks that Mark and I won't be able to be part of the train from Little Rock. It's always great fun to be in a big string of cars all driving like maniacs ;) Or, excuse me...miniacs. We'll take the slow way up and join you guys there.

Hmm, maybe it doesn't suck so badly. Bosley is making an interesting, and somewhat worrisome, popping sound from the tranny. We're going to take him by our family mechanic tomorrow evening and get his take on it.

So, if Bosley can't make the drive, we'll just be going up in Nic II and/or Deimos. Here's a question - what route will you all be taking from LR to Mt. View? Would there be a place Mark and I could meet along the way? It'd be a waste of a drive to go all the way to LR then go up, but if you're going to be going through Conway, that'd be perfect.

Nothing is set in stone yet, but I'll know more tomorrow.

I was thinking the same thing, about meeting somewhere else. I don't mind meeting at McCain, but also thought about going by way of Hwy 65 and meeting the group at some point between here and Mountain View if your not coming through Conway.

We will go up 67/167 to hwy 5 and take 5 all the way up to Mtn. View. If you guys want to hookup and go up 65, that's Ok. I understand it's a long way from Conway & Dardanelle if you go through LR. Tess, if you hook up with RVExotics, let me know so we don't wait for ya at the mall, we can meet in Mtn. View at the square around 11am or so.

Thats what I thought (about your route).
RV.. if you want to meet in Conway and go up 65, we can try to time it right so that we can join the group where 65 hits 67. If not, just meet them at MV
I'll pm my phone number to you guys, and I'll go get some walkies today!

Well, it looks like we're going to risk it with Bosley. Tess, we are taking the route from Russellville to Conway, then up 65 to whatever highway then branches off and goes to Mt. View. If you don't mind driving a little more slowly than usual, you're more than welcome to join us. We're leaving the house at around 7, and should be in Conway at 8-8:15 or so. I'll pm you my cell number, and if you'll do the same I would appreciate it. Of course, if you don't want to ride slowly, you're welcome to go on. With Bosley, we generally don't go much above 55.

Let me know!

CONGRATULATIONS BOSLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bosley won second place in the special interest class of the Mtn. View Car Show yesterday!!!

We had a GREAT ride sponsored by Dana & Annette Woods. They welcomed us into their BEAUTIFUL home for a wonderful cookout and fellowship. Thanks again Dana & Annette!!!! Dana, the ride was perfect! Just the right length and thanks for keeping your speed down, so we were challenged, but nobody got lost.

Jim Baskin and I kept track of our times on the way home. I found out that going 9 and going 5 are almost exactly the same. I went 5 and made it just past the 30/430 exchange as Jim pulled into their garage. So virtually no difference. I was surprised, I really thought 5 was faster. Learn something new everyday!

Thanks to everybody that participated and I hope ya'll had as good a time as I did!

Remember our meet & greet on May 13, hope to see everybody then.
