Well got on the forums a little over a week ago and have been lruking and learning as much as possible about theses odd little cars. I figured i would make an intro post here, b/c it would be most fitting.
Long story short, my wife and i became proud owners of this 36k mile 2003 Mini Cooper S: (best i can tell, fully loaded car but no Navi (Was it available that year?))
Which i promptly took to this past Sundays Auto-X I only did two tests runs though. Next month maybe.
Welcome to NAM and congrats on your MINI - thanks for sharing the picture! I don't think LSD was available until '05 but you probably have DSC - don't know about the NAV availability. Enjoy!

Welcome to NAM from Middle Georgia Minis. You have excellent taste in color selection. Congrats on your new ride and here's hoping you have fun and adventure on every turn in the road!!
Welcome to the Mini World. The Arkansas Mini Owners Klub has drives once a month. In April on the 26th we are driving to Mountain View for a car show and a drive led by a member who lives in Mtn. View. Afterwards we will have a cookout at his house. Watch the forum for details. Look forward to meeting you.
Welcome KC Jr, great looking car. You must be a photographer. The perfect
lighting gives you away. Or you're a photoshop expert. Welcome to the mini
world of Arkansas. I do track days at Hallett Track. Contact me if you have
any interest in going. Nice to meet you.
Yes. photography is a very large hobby of mine. Starting to gain momentum into making a little money with it.
Thanks for the welcome everyone.
Fritz, Hallet sounds AWESOME. Have always wanted to go there, but never had anything capable of it. Please let me know when the track days will happen, and also when you will be heading out there.
Hey KC JR 54! Welcome! There's a SCCA drivers school in May. Check out there web site if you don't already know about it. I know several of us AMOKs will be there. I'm looking to get involved in that, but haven't been able to yet. IF you're interested in tracks, have you heard about the new venture for the Central AR area. There's going to be a 2 mile road course near LR. Check out the web site: http://arkansasmotorsportranch.com/. Even if you can't do a membership he wants feedback. What you are willing to do, what you're interested in.... If you are seriously interested in track days or anything dealing with a track please, please, please contact him. We want this to happen. He has a contract on the land, but if he's not going to have support he can't do it.
Check out our web site http://motoringamok.com/. Check out the calendar for our Klub (it's listed at the top of our Klub forum page here on NAM). If you would like to join let me know and I'll get you on the emailing list. We have an e-letter that goes out quarterly. Our first one just went out this past month.
Welcome, from a fellow owner of an '03 MCS and another AMOK member.
On the local club events, AMOK has a monthly meet-and-greet, and the next one is Tuesday, April 8 @ 6 p.m. at the San Francisco Bread Company, 101 S. Bowman Rd., Little Rock, AR, 72211.
Thanks Free Spirit, i have heard about the sport ranch and am very interested in it. Looked the site over for a little while and at this time it is just to much. I would love to be able to say, ya sure, no problem, but there are just way to many what-ifs ATM. And with how SUPER un-friendly AR is to such things.... I mean we dont even have a 1/4 track....(though supposedly there is a HUGE motorplex in the plans for Roger, AR (NHRA, NASCAR, road course...) we have a decently large descussion going about it on arrides.com.
Also, i will have to look a bit more into the driving school, where is this one going to be held ?
oldbunratty: thanks for the heads up on the next meeting. i will have to mark it on the calendar.
P.S. Has motoringamok.com, been down recently ? Been trying to get on for the past couple of days with no success until just now.
CAI, was a nice addition, the S/C Sounds much nicer. Nothing like my friends KB Cobra, but still more enjoyable for sure. Also, did a DYI OCC, and seems to be working pretty well, though things seem to have slowed down with the switch to Royal Purple... good i guess !
Ohh approaching 46k miles, and still loving every minute of the car. One auto-x under my belt as well, didnt do to hot, but a driving school, harness, and some better tires, should turn things around for me.
Glad to hear you're enjoying the car several months later. I just bought mine a couple months ago. I've got a whole bunch of parts collected so far waiting on a Milltek cat-back so I can do a weekend mod-fest. Then I'll get to enjoy a Mini with 'attitude'. If you want to collaborate on your mods, feel free to chirp up. I'm always up for some wrenching.

I think the mods have stopped for the time being. Currently in the process of moving to Houston, so 'mod' money has to be put towards that for the moment. Once things settle down though, RMW, will be high on the call list.
I think i will also be going with the Milltek exhuast, everyone seems to be very happy with it, and the few clips i have seen it has a great sound to it.
