Euros in the Ozarks

A few of us talked to one of the valets at the Peabody yesterday and he mentioned the Euros in the Ozarks get together in Fayetteville in April. He may come and post about it here, but in case he forgets, I found the official announcement for it on vwvortex.com this morning. It is here:

Euros in the Ozarks

It will be Saturday, April 19th from noon to dark at the Agri Park in Fayetteville. The address and such can be found at the link.

He mentioned that we were all welcome to attend, that it was for any European car. Mark and I are hoping to bring Nic II and Bosley.

I think it would be great if we could have a nice MINI showing there. Anyone else possibly attending?

That would be me that you talked to. My name is RJ, and have been waiting for my account activation to go through so I could post up in here.

We would love to have as many people as possible show up. You are all more than welcome. We should have a few of our fellow VW owners from Tulsa and OKC coming down also. We have also been leaving flyers on many Euro cars, including Porsche, Aston Martins, Lotus', and many Audis. We hope to make this a annual event.

If you have anyquestions, feel free to ask me. you can also come talk to us in the Euro in the Ozarks thread found here
or our main Arkansas GTG & Discussion thread found here.

Excellent. I didn't mean to trump your announcement or anything. I just wanted to be sure the forums here were told about it, as it sounds like it will be a great get together.

I'm up for going if nothing else is going on. I don't have my April schedule yet so I don't know if I'm working that day or not. If I am I may consider going up afterward, depending on what's going on. I would absolutely LOVE to see the Aston Martins, Audi's (hopefully that R8)....

We're definitely going, though I don't think we're going to put the classic through the stresses of driving up 540. We will, however, be bringing our two MINIs.

Nice ride Dash. I've always been a fan of VW's - though I think they did the Jettas a bit of a disservice with the new body style. It looks far less European, IMHO.

How was "Euros in the Ozarks"? I'm mad because I couldn't go due to a cold, fever, aches, pains, virus, flu whatever this past weekend. Does anyone have any pictures?

Mark and I made the drive up to Fayetteville with some crazy VW drivers ;) Jk. It was a lot of fun. Unfortunately we had a prior engagement on Mt. Magazine in the afternoon, so we could only stay at the meeting for about an hour and a half. Did anyone else show up? When we left, we were the only MINIs there. It was very neat seeing so many Euro cars - predominantly VWs. I invited RJ - the guy we met at the Peabody, to come to some runs with us, and they also invited us to come to their big annual shindig in Eureka Springs in August. Should be a good time!

oh and you got your name called for one of the door prizes, for a $50 gift certificate to Greenhouse Grill in Fayetteville. Unfortunately they were only giving them to people still there. sorry man. on the plus side, my wife got her name called for it when they drew again. it was good food if that makes you feel any better.

Hah, not a problem. Glad to know I would've won, at any rate. Hopefully we'll be able to stay the full time at the next event. Did you guys go on a run?
