Want to Buy a Mini...

...but I'm not sure if it has enough back room. I'm used to driving a 1978 VW, but those little guys are a lot roomier than they look! Does the backseat fold down flat? and has anyone driven the Clubman? I really like the look, and the MPG, of that one. Thanks!

I have an '05 Mini S. We have gone on several long trips in it and had plenty of room. ( There were 2 of us). The seats do lay down flat making plenty of room for hauling larger items like card tables, ice chests and dog crates.

Negotiating

Also, how are the dealerships about negotitaions? Are they pretty steadfast, or is there wiggle room? I know with the Scions, which I'm also looking at, you pay the sticker price and that's it. Thanks!

Hi Katikate,
I don't know where you live, but if you are here in AR and going to Memphis, they don't negotiate. You pay sticker for new ones, not sure about used, but don't think so there either.

you could wait till later in the year for the lower APRs, I think thats the only way to get a better deal. In December they offered 0% on 07s, maybe they'll do that this yr w/08s

Compared to a VW, you have plenty of room, the MINIs also are a lot roomier than you'd expect. go to www.miniusa.com and check out all the specs and 'build' yourself one!

Thanks!

Thanks everyone! We haven't decided between outright financing, or the lease to own (Owners Choice). Unfortunatly, O.C. is only avilible in TX or IL, so we may be going to Ft. Worth! The Dallas dealership was kinda snotty.

I really want a clubman. Dont get me wrong, I love the cooper's too, but there is something about the easy access back doors that is appealing, especially considering I have 5 dogs!

Thanks again!

Mini for sale?

I am searching for a used mini 2005 or newer, and it seems impossible!
Can't buy a new one right now since I'm in school, but I'm hooked on
the Cooper S. If anyone hears about one for sale please remember me.
I'm particularly looking for a solid color or black top.
I live in southeast AR, but wouldn't mind traveling to find that perfect
mini!

Keep your eyes open in the market place on this site. The guys here know there stuff, so the prices look reasonable.

Mini's really hold their value so you might need to go for a slightly older one. Good luck in your search.

Actually, I was the proud owner of an '05 and enjoyed every minute
behind the wheel. Bought it used, but it sure didn't look used. All
decked out and a really sweet ride. It apparently was built like a tank,
and I came out of a tragic accident with very few injuries. Feel sure no
other ride will ever measure up.

Well, have you had a chance to try out the dogs in the new Clubman yet? If so, join us at the monthly meet and greet this week, or at the event at the Hop in Little Rock this Saturday.
