VacuCam Maintenance Tips & Updates!

It's come to my attention that I didn't quite make it clear in the instructions that was shipped with the first batch of VacuCams that the tiny screws that hold the camera to the bracket should be periodically checked for tightness with a jewelers screw driver.

If you don't have a set, you can often find them at 99 cent stores or for higher quality anodized versions, Radio Shack sells a nice set for less then $15.

The nut that holds the camera bracket has been red locktited, and the only way to remove that is through a heat gun and lots of force. You won't need to ever tighten this one.

Also, in case you were wondering what the tiny screw was for that's enclosed in a zip lock bag, that's for securing the focus ring. If you look carefully at the camera housing, you will see a little hole below the lens. I removed this screw to prevent accidental damage during use. You really don't need the screw, but I've included it just in case you desire it.

Finally, everyone should have received the replacement Velcro strips in the mail. The orange strips are for the AV Wiring bundle, and the black strips are for securing the bundle to the VacuCam mount.

You don't HAVE to use the upgraded strips if you don't want to. I just wasn't pleased by the quality and color of the ones I included in your kits.
