just wanted to share to all you other crazy MINI owners what i just received from a fellow NAM member - Audioman - a video clip of my car on Spike TV at the 2004 NOPI Nationals.... i participated in the burnout contest to gain my sponsors some publicity, which i succeeded at doing apparently!!
i ALSO succeeded at burning out my clutch, which i am currently replacing with a UUC Motorwerks Stage 2.5 Semi-Race Clutch and 12.25lb Lightweight Flywheel.... the 2.5 means its one step down from their full (kevlar) race clutch, but isn't the Stage 2 clutch they sell for street use either...
in the video, the short amount that it is, you will notice me not making that much smoke and actually reversing - the guy with the water hose next to me didn't speak english and stopped spraying my driver's side wheel, which happens to be the DRIVE side, and my car kept getting traction.... even with those crappy 15" steel wheels and ages old tires i had on there....
oh well, it was fun, i had fun, they had fun talking about the MINI, and my sponsor got great coverage! enjoy!
nope.... haven't started working on the suspension yet, which isn't like me at all - my last car had over $2,000 worth of suspension work done to it, but considering it was a 3,300lb HONDA that still handled like a waterbed on wheels (i'm overexaggerating, of course)....
gotta love the handling of the MINI! more info on the mods can be found by clicking here:
