There is a group of us coming from Calgary and Edmonton - about 7-8 cars.

Myself and Stella 25 were there for AMVIV 5, and had way too much fun last year, so we're planning to come back! Who wants Smarties?

I drove down from Park City last year in a rental. Now that I have moved here from Florida, I will be attending every day instead of 1. By then the wifey may have gotten here and we will drive both to the event. She might have her 09 Vert by then hopefully.

Oh me! me! (the bail money...or was that bailout money?). You know those immigration officers at the border have been pretty rough on Canadians of late. Something about security and me stealing American jobs.

We (the family and I) have already booked hotel for Thursday to Sunday. But it sounds like the Seattle group arrives on Wednesday. I'll have to arrange with lodging first. But we are making an effort to join up with you.

Like regular M&Ms, except better. The rest of the world gets them, but not Americans for some reason.

I get asked that all the time now that we moved to AZ. The reason that you cannot get them in the US is because there is already a brand of candy here called Smarties (multi-coloured sugar candies in a clear roll). In Canada those are called Rockets!

So, my guess is that they (Smarties in Canada) don't want to rebrand them for the US market.

...and if you do get to meet one of us Canuks and we share some Smarties with you...they WILL melt in your hand....but they do taste way better than the M&Ms chocolate!

Now I have to go email relatives in the great white north to send me some bags of them so I can bring them up to LV!!

Info

Hi there,

Could someone give me some information on when and what this entails. I'm English, new to Mini's and new to the US - so would be great if I could get out and about.

I live in San Antonio - do people travel from around there ??

Any info would be great thanks.

Happy Mini Motoring

chatterboxcope,

It's a big annual gettogether for MINI's, about 500-600 cars. It's held in Las Vegas at the Palace Station over 4 days Thur.- Sun., has lots of vendors selling and installing stuff and lots of road trips planned to go out and drive the MINI with lots of other MINIs. Lot's of fun and chance to see a lot of MINIs all in one place. Website is WWW.AMVIV.com

see you there

Vacation Vegas

Hey Fizzgigg

Thanks so much for getting back to me, however it has now depressed me, I'm not available in March :-(

Do you know of any other big events that take place later on in the year ???

I am hoping to go to the Dragon but would love to be able to plan more. I hope that MiniUSA organises a Mini Takes the States this year that would be awesome.

Thanks again

There are events, things, gettogethers happening all the time around the country, some local some national. Just keep on this site and you'll hear about them.
