Enthusiast Event Coverage: A Mini Vacation in Vegas 2006
Behind the Scenes at a Mini invasion in Las Vegas, Nevada

Motor Trend, March 2006
The famous Las Vegas Strip played home to the 3rd annual "A Mini Vacation in Vegas" (AMVIV3), March 23-26, 2006, when more than 260 new and classic Mini Coopers invaded The Palace Station Hotel & Casino. The top floor of the parking structure was converted into a Mini parking garage which served as home base for Mini owners from around the United States while they mingled and showed off their Minis. When they weren't parked there, they spent the weekend motoring through some of the best twisties around the Vegas area. This vacation was the brainchild of several Mini enthusiasts from Sin City Mini Club, and resulted in a motoring event packed full of canyon runs, scenic drives, track racing, and of course a cruise down the famed Las Vegas Strip.
Very cool, Melissa. I was wondering why I only saw the Golf on the first day...

I wasn't wearing orange all weekend! Unless you count my shoes. I was wearing club shirts, mine just happen to be in bright colours.

Excellent write up Melissa and great shots Amanda! You got the MJO MINI on page 6 of your write up on the Valley of Fire run. Cool! And great shot of the C3 team members at the Breakfast. Thanks for covering this event. Can't wait until next year!

Hmmm... I thought I had been the first person to reply when this thread was started, but my post has since disappeared... Anyway, I said, "Read it. Loved it." I'm glad you tracked down a cool Vegas pic of Malibu Stacy. A nice range of photos captured the event very well, and it was interesting to hear about it from your (outsider-looking-in-soon-to-be-an-insider) perspective.
