Middle Tennessee MINIs is having their annual Fall Fun Run led by Hal. This is a fun drive I have been on a few times and you get to see great waterfalls and fall scenery along the way. This event on our site is so we can organize a group drive from Huntsville up to join them at their starting point.

Details about the MTM drive from Hal:
This will pretty much be an all day drive. I’ll be reserving a picnic shelter at Fall Creek Falls for lunch. It has electrical outlets and a charcoal grill for those that want to cookout. I would suggest that you lunch a light meal because you want to have room for supper. We'll probably cut out any of the hiking like we did in the past, unless any of you all would prefer to do it. If you never been to the Falls there are some really nice sights to see there.

The roads we take from Fall Creek Falls to Rock Island State Park mostly back roads that are less traveled but are full of twists and turn over hills and dales (What ever dales are??) While we're in the Rock Island area we can take a short break to stretch our legs and take a bathroom break if needed. Planned as we did last year just before we go to supper we'll do a short hike to Twin Falls part of the park. From there we will motor on to the Timberloft Restaurant in Manchester.

The Fall Fun Run is coming soon! Meeting up Saturday at 7:30 AM. RSVP if you plan on attending and let us know how many you're bringing so we can get a restaurant headcount between us and the Tennessee group!

Meeting at Mama's American Table Restaurant (same spot as our last meet, beside Starbucks and near Home Depot on corner of Memorial Parkway/University). leave at 7:45am. We'll go straight up 231 and meetup with part of the MTM group at the Shelbyville Wal-Mart at 9AM and them on to Murfreesboro.

 

Count me in! My wife may or may not come depending on her schedule. Sorry she can't be more definite now, but hopefully we'll have a solid answer by the end of the week.

So look for the silver Clubman with the sleeping driver. He just drove 2 hours to start his run! Haha!

That's great! Yea its about 1.25 hours for me to get to Huntsville myself so I feel you pain a little! lol But looking forward to a good time.

I've been trying to find out if there is a general timeline for Saturday's ride. My wife is definitely coming but has something to do Saturday night so we're trying to find out if she needs to bring the Countryman or just ride with me.

Also, can I get another cell number from someone else who is going Saturday? KE4 is not responding to my calls or texts (not trying to be pushy KE4!) and we don't want to be left by ourselves if things change before we get to Huntsville. Someone please PM me a number just so we can have direct contact, just in case.

Sorry bud, had a crisis at work and had to work 6am to midnight two nights in a row getting an auditorium lighting system rewired! I'm ready to get out of here and drive more than anyone now!!!

I've talked to Josh but for anyone else going that's not keeping up on the Facebook page, here are some more details:

We will have a picnic lunch at one of the falls so pack a sandwich, chips, drink, etc. Also if you have a portable FRS radio bring it. Not required but helpful. Let's drive safe and have fun!

Schedule:
7:30am - Meetup at Mama's American Table (Huntsville)
7:45am - Leave
9:00am - Arrive Shelbyville Wal-Mart
9:05am - Follow Hal the rest of the day! (Murfreesboro, Falls, Dinner)
5-6:00pm - Dinner in Tullahoma then back to Alabama

 

We had a good time with some awesome roads! Good to meet two new friends all the way up from Birmingham for the event. Hope to see BOTH Minis next time!

I know it's incredibly late but I told you I would post my pics and, dammit, I'm going to do it haha! We had a blast with everyone and the sites were absolutely wonderful.

I'm trying to map out my own route for a Birmingham Run but I'm not sure how I can compete with Hal haha! We look forward to seeing everyone again soon.

 

Those are great pictures, especially the panoramics! That one of the falls with the sun peaking through was really cool! Late is always better than never! It was great to meet you two and I'm more than ready for another run your way! Let me know if I can help.
