Birmingham Mini Meets?

If anyone's still following this thread.... There's a Cars & Coffee meet every Saturday at the O'Henry's Coffee at Brookwood Village. It started a couple of months ago as a VW/Audi meet, but is growing pretty quickly.
I actually got on here just to tell the Mini crowd about it, because it's one of the few types of cars that I see frequently and would like to come out to the meet!
Here's the Facebook page so that you can stay abreast of info about the meet:

p.s. -- I'll probably start a thread about it as well.

I have a very nice route planned out. I just never really organized anything for it. It includes tons of twisties, food and maybe swing by Barber's or something.
I'll be happy to meet up one night and try to get something organized.

We could always do a nice ride someplace between the B'ham and H'ville areas so everyone could meet in the middle. I live in Cullman, that's a good place to start. There are some good roads through the Bankhead National Forest, and the trip up old Hiway 31 is nice.
Also, I'm thinking seriously about taking my Mini to Barber Motorsports Park at the end of September. $275 for 3.5 hours on the 2.38 mile track.

I would to get something going. Maybe even get a few Rocket City Minis down here for a change!

Birmingham Cars & Coffee is still going strong and growing by the week. You guys should really come out some time. We'd like to coordinate some more cruises, etc. And it sounds like you guys have the interest in doing so!

That's not bad at all. You know about the tag days right? There's about 4 days a year people with Barber's tag on their car or bike get to ride at no extra charge. I haven't done it. I don't how long you can. I doubt it's 3.5 hours. I'm fairly familiar with Cullman, Smokerise, and Hayden areas. There are a lot of fun roads and no Hoover cops too! You work on a route for your area and I'll try to complete mine. No reason we can't do both. The more thorough your plan is, down to where we get gas, eat, activities, etc., the more people will come. They want to know what they're getting into and how long it will take and preferably a good "heads up".

I also drive a sport bike now and you may have 10 or so bikes crash your C&C in the next few weeks. Haha. Nothing bad, we just thought it would be kinda of funny to bust up in there.

When would you be interested in doing it so that we can coordinate?

Check out bamarides.com. I'm one of the lowest on that totem pole. Nice guys but it seems they take seniority pretty seriously.

I'm already planning on a Barbers tag this next week, I think it's a natural look for the Mini. I think you get one lap around the track, but so what? That's more than youget with other tags; it's not like you get free tickets to a home game with a Auburn tag.
I'm gonna hit up the Cars & Coffee soon, this next weekend if everything is up and running by then.

I don't ride bikes anymore, since I ended up in my own trauma unit, but I've looked at their site before. Their routes are great for a Mini ride too.
