I have been reading the forums for about a year and in May decided to take the jump and buy my first Mini and now I can't see myself driving anything else!! Its a Chili Red/Black Roof 2007 MCS I found in Autotrader. I just got around to updating my profile on here with a few pictures. I live in Muscle Shoals in the northwest corner of the state but plan to come to some of the Alabama events in the future.
See you around,
Kevin

Welcome to NAM-land from MAD-town, WI. Muscle Shoals, home of the Swamp Rats, Kenny Stabler & another MINI! I totally get the "I can't see myself driving anything else."
Big CONGRATULATIONS on your new baby. I found my MINI thru AutoTrader too....myself. Got it in Auburn, 2005, had 3,500 miles and one owner. Shinny! It was love at first sight. I completely understand, we all do
We were in Muscle Shoals a few months back. Went to the Rosenbaum Home and MSS. Check out my albums on MySpace. My brother was a guitar player there back in its hayday~ Hadn't seen the inside of the studio since I was 10 years old. Still the same~
Nice to meet you ParrishBlue. Great pictures of both places on your profile. You know its funny how often you don't really go to places in your own back yard! I have been to MSS and Fame and those are great and have a lot of history there.
But you know I have never been to our Rosenbaum Home . People drive from all around the country to see the Frank Lloyd Wright homes and I never have been to the one right here. I am going to have to do that soon!
See you around,
Kevin

Hey, Thanx for the sweet comments. I'll have to check out your Flickr.
I know what you mean about touristy things...my brother-in-law was born and raised in NYC and yet to go to the Statue of Liberty.
So, have you named her/him yet? Its mandatory ya know
Mine is Maxfield
I'm just giddy with my new toy. 09' MCS 6-spd Pepper White (same color my husband turns when I drive). I bought it three weeks ago from MOB. I've never driven anything this fun. Looking forward to meeting some you folks next week.

Welcome--( I drive a chili red and my wife color alternates between these two colors).
Let's schedule a MINI meetup in Huntsville sometime and maybe some other forum watchers will join us. I've tried to get a meetup in North Al but no luck.
Do you know about MOTD? I'm going up Wednesday with the Nashville group on a ride. There an active group and I've been on a few of their runs and had fun. Bham has events too occasionally but I have not been able to attend them.

I'm all for a Huntsville/anywhere meet up, MOTD would be a blast but I don't think I can get off work for it also most likely to late to get room. I thought about going up that Saturday for a day trip to it but not sure if it would be worth it.

I went up last year for the first time for the weekend. Its amazing to see that many cars at one spot and tons of cool vendor things to look at. I was so impressed that I am going for the whole experience this time. The main road itself if a lot more crowded during the weekend and more tickets wrote so the week days are better. But there is a group dusk and night ride Saturday evening which is cool too.

Dang I wanna go so bad!!!! What I may do is drive up Friday might stay at a friends in Knoxville then drive up early Saturday. Ask a fee to ride with me but no takers yet.
Do you have to sign up for the Saturday might ride? Not sure how it works.

No the Saturday night rides you just show up for. You don't have to register to visit the main event areas like vendors, etc. But if you do register in the next few days you can get tshirts, badges, and access to the farewell dinner Saturday too.
