Hey you AggieMINIs, I know how hard it is to pull yourselves away from Kyle Field on a football Saturday, but maybe Sept 26th is an evening game, or an away game.
Anyway, if you think you deserve a break at the beach on Saturday, 26 September, you are invited to join us (Houston MINI Motoring Society) for our Adopt-A-Beach pickup, beginning at 9:00 AM (ouch!) on Galveston Island.
Final details are being worked out with the Adopt-A-Beach program, but we think we will be right in front of Galveston Island State Park, about 6 miles west of the seawall. We will have a little less than a mile of beach to rid of plastic, aluminum and paper and maybe some butts.
This is part of a statewide pickup scheduled from 9:00 AM til noon, rain or shine (but not hurricanes), afterwhich we will have a nice group lunch somewhere on the island before heading home.
We appreciated your help at Ronald McDonald House last February (Thank you all!) and, if this sounds like it might be fun and an excuse for an early drive somewhere, we hope you can join us!

Hey Aaron, Gwendolyn, I hope you two can make it... and any other Aggies, too! We'll have more info as the date approaches. If you go to our revised website at hmms.org, you can find pictures of our adopted beach. (Rumor has it that we will have a neat t-shirt sponsored by Momentum MINI for volunteers who participate, as well as a free lunch afterwards provided by texasadoptabeach.org)
This coming weekend is our Adopt-A-Beach cleanup at Galveston Island State Park.
