D70s ?

I bought my D70s last Nov. and love it. Does everything I want and then some. But I've had a message pop up in the control panel that Nikon couldn't answer??? They want me to send it back.
The message says, 'off'.
I tried to reformat the card and that worked once (a month or so ago). I was using the camera today at a place like, Make A Wish. Taking pictures of families that are enjoying all the activities in the Orlando area. Anyway, I take about 8 pictures, then get the 'off' message again. I inserted a different card and got the same message, but then it worked and I was able to finish my pictures.
I called Nikon and their tech person I spoke too, didn't know what it was and said I should send it back. He had no reference to an 'off' message in his data base of info.
Have any of you 70s people heard about or seen this message? And if so, how can I fix it or do I send it back since it's still under warranty?

Thanks ahead of time.
